So on the one hand you demonize the idea of social healthcare, then on the other hand you demonize a state for NOT offering it. The problem is, in this particular instance, the state is also offering another choice in physician assisted suicide (and as I remember - you are all for choice).
The real problem here is that all of your self proclaimed righteousness in the guise of personal freedoms comes to a head and blows up in your face as you struggle with how to explain that even though you believe people should be able to make their own decisions, they actually cannot when it comes to the one thing above all that we should truly have the final decision over - our own fate in times of suffering.
Your attempt at propping up your righteousness is to pick out one example and proclaim the entire system is out to kill people and everyone who doesn't side on the far far right with you is our enemy and not worth the oxygen they breathe. Using the same tactic could just as easily demonize your religion and show how it kills and rapes people. YOU, my friend, is why there is a divide in this country - you and everyone that speaks like you who happens to have a loud voice in the way of radio, TV, or the web. They, by the way, are the real problem and a severe danger to our political system. AND THEY GET RICH OFF IT.
The real reason why so many people are not participating in this discussion (and why I've bowed out of them not only on the internet, but person to person) is that people like you create a situation where there by definition cannot be a discussion.
You live so far off to one side in your views that you start right off with the accusation that anyone else is stupid, anti-whatever the topic is, and generally not worth speaking to. Any intelligent person can see the logic behind that: if that were truly the case, there cannot be a discussion because there is only one side available to discuss. YOU created that false pretense. The problem is that it's up to someone else to break that down so an objective discussion can happen. We all know that won't happen. Hence the choice to just not even bother. Again, YOU did that. It was YOUR choice. Perhaps that's the reason for the moniker lonesomebob?
So, we have an ironic situation here. According to the way the current system is operating, in this particular case, someone was offered assisted suicide and not healthcare by the state. I guess they should have been offered nothing? Yes, I agree it paints a bad picture. To jump to the conclusions you do, however, paints an unrealistic picture. Oregon is NOT out kill people.
