That is not a Ferrari engine it is a Chevy, do some investing on Chevy part numbers maybe you have some good engine parts. Casting numbers on engine block , heads , intake manifold. Bolt the Holley carburetor back on and block of the openings on the engine with a rag or heavy tape.
The VW Beetle transaxle is capable of having its ring gear "flipped" over to the other side of the pinion gear to reverse its direction. Otherwise, it can be turned upside down, as I did with my G50.They must have modifiet that transmission if its VW otherwise it has four backward gears..
VW bug boxes usualy sits up front of the engine.
I saw the HEI distributor, so Chevy Buick Pontiac Oldsmobile whatever but not Ferrari.
