I found the problem Bob, you're missing the clutch pedal ;)

All kidding aside which master and slave cylinders are you using?

I had the pedal laying flat to give me a bit more room .. LOL ..
I am using the ones supplied with the kit. Did some calling around today and looks like I may have to increase from 5/8 to a 17mm on the clutch to get more travel.

I never thought to check ?

So ... a warning to all you guys ... When bolting my LSA to the G9750 trans axle, I did not go back and check the thrust measurement on the crank shaft. (Never even crossed my mind) My go cart ride was a short one. I have found that the input shaft on the trans, pushed the crank in to the thrust bearing. It DESTROYED the thrust bearing! $12,500 GM crate motor ... Bearing material went through the whole engine.
In the weeks to come the engine and trans will come back out and be repaired. A shitty day at camp LSA ....

Sorry to hear Bob. Even if you would have thought to check the thrust measurement on the crank, is there a way to adjust it? Is that in the clutch?

That really sucks to go from such a big high, to the lowest of lows.

A.J.

Bob sorry to hear of your loss. Reminds me of back in the day when drag cars would balloon the torque converter and gernade the engine.

Ouch! THAT sucks! Do you think the crate engine can be salvaged? I guess you wont know until you open it? Was it missing or knocking when you brought it back from your ride?
