I remember this. In 1962, my family bought a new Ford Falcon station wagon from Gotham Ford, in Manhattan....I didn't see the Mark III up there, four or five years later, but I remember reading about it and I may have read Marty Schorr's article when it came out. And I think I went to junior high school with one of his kids or relative's kids- Kenny Schorr. What do you know....

What is really interesting to me in that article, is seeing a 40 on the street in period with other cars around it. The design looks so futuristic by comparison, something that gets lost today when you drive one on the streets. But clearly still caused a sensation just as they do today!
 
interesting read. re build quality. they really are poor. i can see why Ford were dissapointed but it'l be sacralidge now to impove them. funny how things turn out.

by the middle of next year i shall be one of the privaliged to have driven a MK3 :thumbsup:
