Ya also gotta think of the guy who decided it was a great idea to put little LED's in your windshield washer nozzles and sell them for $15 when they take less than $1 to produce. Or the guy who decided it was cool to make wheels that spin when the car is sitting still. Or the guy who decided neon under a car is cool, or enormous wings that fit Honda Civics. It's all in one's taste.

Although none of the above mentioned things is in my taste at all. I can't believe this guy spent that much money on that thing, but man, a lot of work must have gone into it. It's ugly and amazing at the same time...

Yes, you certainly have to respect the dedication and determination of a man willing to commit substantial time, effort and limited resources to create his dream machine. That doesn't mean, however, that the thing ultimately produced in such an undertaking is necessarily attractive or inherently redeeming in itself. In this particular case, it's horribly ugly. And, where that thing is brought to a public forum (such as an auction) in an attempt to attract public interest (and purchaser dollars/pounds) it's completely reasonable for members of the public to express their opinions as to its beauty (or lack thereof). There's nothing mean spirited or unreasonable in the expression of such opinions.

This was his second attempt?

Chris

HOLY CRAP!!! This guy is going all out!! I can't wait to see the finished product. Very impressed with this work. Chris, I know you can't divulge too much, but you need to get this guy on here and let us follow his progress. I'm very interested!

Thanks for sharing,

Brian

too cool, he never gives up!
All laughing at him cause so shitty lookalaike first car....and now the serious thing!
Will love to see it finished, I am sure he will make a great looking car.

Thank u for posting chris....just keep us updated about the project, please;)

Italo, would you like to provide us with a sketch? ;)

I think this replica is fantastic - Amazing craftmanship etc!

Pity there will not be a build thread :(

I wouldn't mind seeing one of your doodles... But yes, I think we need more photos ;)

Wonder what it would cost to hire this chap to design and build a chassis, much like the one in the photos?

It looks awesome and if it didn't cost the Earth, it might be a neat way to have the one-off Group C-style car that i want, without putting in the legwork I clearly don't have the time for at the moment... Or will I get cast out of here for saying that!?

Or get a bespoke chassis designed to go under that Porsche GT1 replica bodywork I posted in the 917 forum here and on Locost Builders... Now, there is a thought... Use Porsche engine/'box, PCCB brakes.. Mmmmm!

Dom, you need to decide on your chassis first and then go from there.........

It makes it easier for me, if you like one of my designs, to work on a set chassis, because I can work out a design that fits closely your intended chassis.......:)

If you go with a Porsche engine and transmission, this chassis and 908-910 project looks great :

Is there any one knowing how to get in contact with the builder.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I am right now manufacturing a carbone center drive chassis with sub frames in aluminum. I have started to do the body shelf in CAD and was planning to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:stockticker>CNC</st1:stockticker> machine to get the moulds of if. If possible I rather purchase the body work form this builder. It seem like it is up to my very high demands.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Any tips is appreciated <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Thanks in advance<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Best regards<o:p></o:p>
