I have several photos of those mods and we thought about it during our build.
Have a look at P1032 restoration and you will see the same stiffener plating.

That same stiffener plate in your photo is in the group of photos on the1046 restoration site , same place as the video . Still no photos of the doubler or a better description of it or location .

If you look at the restoration videos of 1046 you can see there is an extra skin that has been riveted and gas welded onto the back of the rear hoop. it is evident in the video when they are aligning the clutch.

Must be a language barrier . Doubler as Rick call's it skin as Ryan call's it . I guess it's the same thing ( Yes the skin I refer to is a doubler ) . Easy answer or not some will choose the long and hard way to say the same thing .
