GIGO Crap has spoken.
Pete,
America is far from bankrupt, our economy is making trillions, and growing daily!
Our problem is not spending, the problem is we do not pay enough in taxes to cover what we have been spending.
If we want to live in a first world country, with all the benifits that come with that, we need to pay for it!
Now if we really want to spend more on our military than the next ten Countries combined.......
If we dont want our social safety nets...........................
If we don't want old folks to go without medicine.............
Thats fine, we can vote on that, but I think we know how that will come out, don't we.
We as a country want these things and we need to pay for them.

Sean,
Government is the name we have given to things we decide to do together.
We hade decided that its really best do some things together. Things like the Police, Fire Dept, Mail, roads, bridges, Education, FDA, Workmans Compensation, the Military, Coast Guard, Social Security, Air traffic controll, unemployment insurance, NTSB, Homeland Security, Medicare, Student Loans, Affordable health Care.................
Sean there are two choices, the American people can Vote in a Govenment who with close these programs, good luck with that........ or we can pay for them.
There are no other choices.
Cutting taxes only increased the interest on the debt and fooled the people into thinking that their taxes were enough to pay for all we want and more!
We need raise taxes for everyone, we need to pay for what we receive.
Now the thing you might like about acually paying for what we receive, the people would have a better idea of cost and might just send folks to Washington who will be less likely to spend our money frivolously.
It makes my stomach turn and hurts my head when a military commander is refused combat gear he needs (budget, 'ya know) and is ordered to continue his mission without proper support and then gets fired for not using sufficient means (whatever that means) to protect his troops. Ditto for several others. All of these guy's had vocal objections to the Commander-in Chief's policy making. CLUE...
Larry,
I think some of the difference is how the questions are asked (WHERE the survey was taken, and WHAT the questions are). It appears that when polled, approximately 12% say they are against the Health Care Law, but when questioned further, it turns out they are against it because it does not go far enough.
Those people are not against a Govenment health care law per sa, yet it appears that many Poll takers count them that way.
Larry L.;424495"Where was the survey taken? Harlem?" (To be frank said:that[/I] would be, "Larry, you clearly are a RACIST!!!" Thanks for being bigger than that.)
I'm getting another headache...
No Jim, they were not supplied with equipment available. Already paid for.
The excuses they received were regarding budget cuts.
Jack,
With all due respect, with a budget like this (in 2009) are you really saying that is not enough?
Perhaps they should look at just what they are spending the money on.
This sound alot like the crap that school Districts pull.
Here is how it goes down.........
Taxes decrease so a district is told to cut back 5%, OK do they perhaps combine two districts, cut back on "administrators"..............
No, they say OK no books!
That riles up the parents, how dare you cay their spending.....
This military thing sounds alot like that, sorry Jack, but you fell for it.
They have more than enough to keep the sharp end supplied and you know it, they are playing you!
So Jack, let me see.......
No budget cuts means the front line guys get their equipment........
Sorry Jack, they are playing you.
Do you really believe that China and Russia are paying the same wages and pensions that we do? Was that part of the calculation? What about the training that we do for other countries, that comes out of the same budget. What about the fact that alot of money goes to for military for other countries, is that part of the defense spending budget? Physically the size of Britain, Spain, France, etc.. compared to the US? Aussies dont count because the only worry about the amount of people and they are mostly on the coasts. No offense.Jack,

The poll was conducted for CNN by ORC International, with 841 adults nationwide questioned by telephone. .
