My SPF at SEMA

It is sitting outside the complex, had some pictures sent to me and thought I would share.

Question; Where did the origin of the back-words side stripe with FORD at the rear of the stripe come from? I've seen a few late creations this way. Was there any European sponsored teams that ran them this way? I remember one of the model kit company's back in the late sixties released a model with the FORD at the rear of the stripe, but I thought it was an error............

Hi Rich Roy, the first car that I saw with the "Ford" at the rear of the side sill stripes was GT40P1017. I'm not sure if it was the first, but I don't remember any of the prototype GTs with the stripes that way.

Thanks Mark; I dug deeper and found a note in the current SAAC regestry stating that "a small number of British based racing G.T.'s were painted up this way. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Forever Ford!
