Paris in a Ferrari 275 GTB

Not F1 but a drive in the late 1960s through Paris in a Ferrari 275 GTB.

This reminds me of my Rome University days and driving down Lungo Tevere in a 1957 Lancia Aurelia, through flashing yellow lightsat 2230, at 160 kph to get to Pasquino, the english language movie theater on time !!!

I've seen that before, but one or the other was doctored up in that the one I saw years ago was "faster" with different timing on the squeeling tires. In this digital world there is not telling what one is looking at anymore. Still, it works better than a cup of coffee as I get motivated this morning. Think I'll look at the old Shell Ferrari commercial to finish this donut off.

The sound is intoxicating. Hands up those that think the car used was really a 2CV with a Ferrari engine sound dubbed in. Like Mark said.....Great fun though.

I believe that was the late 70's. Supposedly it was a Mercedes and then overdubbed with a Ferrari. It definitely looks dubbed over to me. If you really look closely, he's not really going anywhere near as fast as the engine makes it sound.

That was the famous Trintignant short-movie, nearly surely with jackie Ickx or Lafitte driving.
I looked it hundred times,u see engine rpm doesnt match with the driving scenes
Was also famous cause this was the mother movie of all the gateway movies done at today (as everything today is much more extreme).
The sound is great....typically ferrari the one making everybody turns head and kid smiling.

The most impressive and absolutely foolish for me remains the black fool named Ghostrider, a swedish bike rider doing simply the impossible with bikes.

One comment from a LinkedIn colleague said he first saw the video back in the 70s, and was hosted by a Ferrari club member. This Ferrari club guy made no excuses and said the car was a Ferrari. Another LinkedIn comment was the Mercedes was a 450, 6.9.

A Belgian friend said the rumor that was never confirmed was the driver, believed to be Jackie Ickx.

Anyway it was great !!!

Pete nails it. This one pops up every few months although the hoax information is finally starting to circulate on most car forums and it is dying down somewhat.
