Let's keep in mind here that our fellow gt40 fans across the pond don't have the benefit of the Bill of Rights (which we have in the good ole' U S of A). So, net, their political machine can legislate off the air a program like Top Gear whereas that would not be possible in the US because it would be a clear violation of the 1st Amendment.

Net, in semi-socialist countries (like most of Europe) you're going to have Big Brother watching over your shoulder "for your best interest." It's just part of the European way of life. I'd rather live on this side of the pond where we can bear arms if we want (I don't own a gun) and watch on TV whatever the hell we want.

Only problem is, here in 'Murica, we apparently let the lawyers do the job of taking a dangerous show off the air. Freedom is good, even capitalism is good, but nothing is perfect. Even the best things can come full circle and bite themselves in the ass.
