Right Price ?

I found this in a 1970's book I recently acquired. Unfortunately the image goes across pages, otherwise it would be a wonderful side view picture of a GT40. Not too sure whether they've got their facts right regarding the amount Ford spent.

Seems to be a very rudimentary book written for young people or perhaps children..

"Thousands of pounds were spent on the car"

Well even millions, billions or trillions of pounds can be expressed in multiple "thousands of pounds"..
