My new boat will be named either "5aday" or "Take Three Girls"and I will collect it next Tuesday.
Its a Dell Quay Dory with a Johnson 40.
Actually, its not brand new but it could be a lot of fun. Keith will be the Navigator and Sexual advisor.

Can I steal it and drive to France like you did with mine? :drunk:

At least mine had *comfy seats* (no, I can't, I promised)

It's quite a long way away David, make sure you check the trailer wheel bearings and hubs..

I sold a RIB to a guy who paid me £12,000 in cash in a Safeway bag (don't ask). He religiously changed the trailer wheel bearings and drove North to Northamptonshire. I told him to take it easy because the trailer had only ever been used for launching not towing, and you know what salt water is like but he wouldn't have it.

The Metalastic hub failed catastrophically just as the M3 joins the M25 and he lost the lot across 3 lanes and put a large hole in the back of his new Toyota Landcruiser.

I didn't really care as I think he was a drug dealer anyway and just wanted a high speed RIB to pick up "lobster pots."

.

Is it a bit like the one festering in the corner of my yard? Great little boat .
It has never been used to smuggle large quantities of expensive wine from France.

The trailer on my Dory never made it home, it had to stop by a welding shop for some emergency repairs after it fell in half on the A3m. It too was only used as a launch.

Totally unlike yours Bob. Its a 13ft Cathedral hull and unsinkable (1100lbs positive buoyancy / self draining) and completely open top . I had a very new version in Malta in the early 70's- again with a Johnson 40 and on my own it "stepped" at about 15mph and flat out about 35 mph+. Into wind with a reasonably calm sea state the hull would be suspended on air with just the screw in the water. I had a photo taken from 42 MARINE Sioux cab (Bell 47)
of just that .
