I agree, hard part is waiting, actually I've quite enjoyed surfing the net every night for parts. (Kinda fun but I'm not getting any work done)....
It will be well worth it when it gets here.. Fran and crew have been awesome to deal with...I'm afraid to see an LMP.....Wife will blow a gasket if I start yapping about one of those....

Excited is an understatement. Thanks for shoving me over the edge Fran!

Didn't mean to hijack your thread Michael. I should have started a new one. I sent you a PM Doc.

Congratulations Michael on your order, You have caught my curiosity :stunned:with your order options 1)Seat brackets for seat adjustment, 2) Tow Hook,... and Most of all... 3)Fling Wing. Are these options a RCR built add-on or aftermarket supplied?

You can get the tow hook that is mounted under down low on the nose just above the splitter. I am having a tow hook accessible from the upper air inlet. I am modifying the upper air inlet extending it forward and squaring its appearance. I want the air inlet to carry a little more of the square appearance like the lower body has. While it will not be as aerodynamic, it will be more forward which will actually allow for more air (according to Fran). I intend to track the car some, and he felt an upper tow hook might be better...

As far as the seat brackets- there are other threads that have referred to them, but there are brackets that will allow seats to have some adjustability. To be honest, I don't know all of the details about it, except that when we visited Frans, my wife said she too would want to drive the car. Without this, she simply could see. so, he felt we needed this option. Maybe someone can comment that knows these details...

The "Fling Wing" was a request I had made that Fran said he had already considered. My self and my wife prefer the street tail that has a longer extension of the rear body behind the rear wheels, and it covers all of the back of the car. The race tail is open in the back for the diffuser. The advantage of the race tail is that you can have the rear wing (which I wanted). So, I wanted to find a way to have the street tail with a rear wing. This has not been possible before because the rear wing would prohibit the street tail from opening. So, Fran is developing a third option. The street tail will have new uprights made for the race wing. It will have 4 pins that come out, and the wing is removed, and the street tail can then open. Thus, the "Fling Wing". It is going to be an option for other cars too. I have seen a wing mounted on the street tail body, but considering the wing will have 1000 pounds of downforce on track, a connection to the frame seemed better. This is a good solution.

I have 3 other options that are skunk works for now that I can't wait to share with you.

congrats. I have a few questions about your specs:

1) From where are you sourcing the engine? / recomemndations?
2) F14 wheels: black?
3) "gray finish" do you have a pic of the color gray that helped you decide? (ie: is this gray gelcoat that you'll buff or a full-on paint job?)
4) front lift kit: this is on my list for driveway reasons, how much lift do you estimate you'll get?
4) bolt-in-sidebars - is this for your track days?

Thanks,

Fernando

Fernando.
1,engine from our supplier here in Detroit...Kelley Longwish
2,Mike has changed to spyder wheels now...no longer F14

Fran, thanks for the info. It is good to see manufacturer presence on here.

1 - Kelley Longwish's work - would we buy the engine through you?
2 - do you have a pic of those so i can add to my decision library?
3 - wow, nice. are those powder coated F14 wheels in dark gray?
4 - ok, i'll have to lay a board at my driveway to street joint and ensure that's enough - what's the length between the wheel contact patch and the tip of the nose down at the front of the splitter?
5 - thanks

I've had a GTM bookmarked for a while and the more i read the less i wanted the donor car route, with little room and time. So as I widened my circle of research I came across the SLC. Looking forward to learning more and making the plunge.

1,Kelley is the manager for a major supplier...you would pay them directly with our
discount applied
2,the pic of the grey car has spyder wheels installed...same as Mike has now
ordered.
3,see above
4,worst case 30 inches...straight on approach, the splitter corners are radiused so
less if you turn into the slope...as is normal for a low car
You're welcome....

fernando we have been dealing with kelly for our 376/525hp for our slc and he has been great to work with.......................M

I can second that; I purchased my LS3/525 from Kelly and it was nice and smooth transaction. Fran and Kelly work togeher all the time, so that was a big plus for me.

Could I have bought it a few bucks cheaper somewhere else....yes but not enough to make it worth while IMO!

My 2 cents,

Jim
