The perfect quote - political in nature

1) Obama's debt is much more i 4 years than Bush's debt in 8. Yes, we need more spending cuts like all the experts state. Curious why you never comment on the Simpson/Bowles commission and other economists recommendations? Selective amnesia? Ignorance? Fear?

2) Tsk Tsk, greedy greedy. So yo want the top 1% to pay 90% of the tax bill? Epitome of greed.

3) The top 1% are paying 50% already. So who's currently being favored? What are the bottom 40% paying? That's right. Nothing. It's not "favoring" the 99%. It's enslaving them at the well of govt largesse paid for by a diminishing number of producers (see Greece, Italy, Spain, etc). Kinda like getting an addict hooked on crack or heroin. One try and it's over...

4) We bring it up because it's the socialist programs that are bankrupting us (although military spending is probably out of hand too) and you can't deal with the debt without dealing with these programs.

Did you know that the federal govt has never in it's history created an entitlement program that it subsequently shut down. Never. Even when they fail or don't work.

Wow, I've had baseballs ricochet off a batting cage slower than reasoning, sense and facts ricochet off your head.

Steve,

You now say you never accused the left of wanting Socialism, then why did you say these things?:

"As Thatcher once said, "the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money"

"You probably figure that can be solved with more taxes and socialism".

"Socialism has never worked, ever".

Now you say we have "Socalist programs"?

************************

Grow up, nobody thinks Socalism is a good idea, stop using stupid righ wing rhetoric, stop tring to deflect the discussion with stupid lables!

Stop saying you done use that lable and then use it over and over!

Because the left wants socialist policies. The 4 largest are all democrats' ideas: Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, and Social Security.

Those programs are growing far faster than the rate of inflation, will soon be the majority of our budget, and the left refuses to deal with them because they would rather lie to the public to get votes rather than put forth difficult but practical solutions like Paul Ryan, Tom Coburn (or Simpson-Bowles for that matter.

The purpose of a blue-ribbon commission is to put together a panel of experts. It's bipartisan and, presumably objective since none of them are running for office. It allows the President to have political cover when he follows their recommendations. Obama had the chance, even with a filibuster-proof senate and a house majority and what did he do? He pussied out and rather than cut spending, he increased it (Obamacare). Classic tax and spend liberal.

I have suspicions but no idea why the left wants/likes expensive socialist policies the nation can't afford and are heading us down the road of Greece. Can you enlighten me?

Once again, Jim, no real answer to all the experts recommendations as well as many of the other points brought up by others.

Few people on here have the balls to put up their real and full names. Pussies ;)

Oh and just for the record Jim, above is the full statement I made. You deleted the " ;) ", which as we all know in forum land, smilies are a valuable and sometimes incredibly important part of the over-all message! I have asked you before, not to mis-quote me ;)

For the record, I pay FICA twice on myself, once as an employer and once as an employee. Starting next year I will be paying a 0.9% additional Medicare surtax on my wages as well as an additional 3.8% on any other income. The AGI floor for medical expenses for me will go from 7.5% to 10%.

So I'm already paying more next year. And I fully expect that Medicare will not be there for me when I retire, so I'm planning for it. In fact, one of my congressmen told me to max out my HSA every year and save it for after 65, because I won't be eligible for Medicare in 20 years because I worked too hard and was too successful.

BTW, why did Congress make themselves exempt from Obamacare (and many other policies)?

Mark,

I was not mis-quoting you, I was not changing your post to make a point, I was not using your post to make anyone think you did not place a:).

As you are fully aware, it was a question, I was asking you if you were calling those folks pussies?

So Mark,

Are you calling Randy, Mr Fechter, TimB, Keith1 and Steve, "Pussies"?

So mark, this is what I said, you called THAT a mis-quote? I did not quote you at all.

You mean you are angry because I used the very same word you used "pussies" In a question?

You need to reasearch what a quote is and what a mis-quote is, then you can come back and apologize.

By hitting 'quote' to your post, I am highlighting EXACTLY what you posted. I did not edit anything out JIM. With respect Sir, you did, when you quoted me!

So, you were asking a question of me, from what I posted? The wink was deliberate in my post and with it, your subsequent question is flawed. That, I assume, is why you chose to omit the wink, to allow you to ask your pointless and flawed question. Sensible readers of the original post would not, by definition, need to ask me the question!

And YES. Anyone who wishes to make what on the surafce at least, appear to be heart-felt and important statements, then enter into arguements about them, should MAN UP and put their names to the comments they make. With all due respect, of course!

Jesus mark grow up, it was a question.

If you didn't call them pussies than that would be a good answer to my question, instead of agreeing.

Oh but of course Jim, you've already stated that liberals are smarter and better educated than conservatives like me.:loser:

Now make an intelligent argument or counterargument rather than the drivel you've been posting for the last 3 pages

Mark,

I don't think Jim understands that you're accusing him of deliberately eliminating the wink/smiley face when quoting your post in order to paint your post in a more negative light than you intended. Why he doesn't understand it is beyond me as it seems patently obvious.

I DID call them pussies Jim! What the f**k are you arguing about???

They all love me and I them. I am 100% certain that they can take it, without castrating me. Even people who agree most of the time and consider themselves friends, can at times disagree and call each other pussies I am sure. If they don't like it, they can always piss off! They do at least know who I am and can find me if they wish!!!

Mark,

Haven't been to England since I was in Med School and went to Oxford in 1993. Loved it! So since you accused me of being a pussy and said I can find you if I wish, I'm coming over in 2014 for the Goodwood Festival and you're putting me up and buying the beer. Really good beer. Not the crap you can by in a grocery store.

Not wishing to piss anyone off directly, but yes. I guess I am. IN THIS CONTEXT ONLY ON THIS POINT ONLY. Don't read into that what isn't there Jim!

What? Hello? Have I missed something? Before I get into that, Mark, I'm quite happy to be your pussy - what are the hours and the pay?

My name is Keith Hardy and my changing handle has always reflected that. I am also a Baron (a titled individual) but I use it in rarely these days. I am related to Hardy, Captain of the Victory. "Baron Hardup" is a famous character from Panto, and the season is coming up now (er, right behind you actually). "Hardup" is of course a play on my surname, and refers to the time when we lost our lands and big houses to the Liberals after they scrapped the Navy and invited Bonaparte to come over with his mates.

I have also been know variously (and still am) has The Hard1, Hard1 and HardOne for reasons that you really should not dwell on, but I know where you live.

As for "Keith1" well, that wasn't my choice. Ron Earp opened my account in 2004 (still deciding whether we did the right thing there) after several failed attempts (I'm a pussy remember?) and that's what he called me, and I'm kind of proud of it. So suck that Crackshit and go try get a life, but please never utter my name again.

My door is open Steve! I know a little about 'real' Beer as it happens!
