How about Alfa T-33/3 coupe?
Rarer than even 312P Ferrari, as this Alfa was the only one of its kind made in closed form.
Belonged to a friend of mine here in OZ for many years, now the car is in the USA.
Always had ambitions to to own it, but I'd need to win the lottery twice!
However, I do have a couple of suitable Alfa quad cam V8s of the 70's sitting on the floor without a car to put in......

Alfa...You can certainly see the influence from the later Lola T-70s and the Ford Mk IV. or was it the other way around???

This Alfa first appeared in '69, so the general trend for aero shape for sports protos had been set by then. I can see Lola T-70/ Ferrari 512S conotations in this Alfa, not a bad look at all, although its nose was a little more rounded and less blunt in '69.
The Alfas are often the overlooked siblings of the endurance sportscar scene of the late 60s/early 70s, even though in '71 at the height of the 5.0 liter 917/512 battle, the 3.0 liter Alfas actually won 3 of the 8 World Championship races at Brands Hatch, Targa Florio and Watkins Glen.
Alfa had a very variable record from sucess and looking very good to dismal failures....largley due to funding (the company was insolvent during this period) and an autocratic race department head who really only wanted to do F1 anyway.
Also they ran 1600 GT TZs and GTA touring cars, both winning European Champ titles in several years which conspired to steal more funding from the sportscar program. Although I should be grateful for the GTA program, as I have one of the original 20 1750 GTAMs built by the works, which I am restoring.

THis would be one of my favorites.

Any idea if body moulds are available ?

(Sorry for the pics low quality but it is a doubleside pic in one of my Porsche books)

Ahh, Jo Sieffer's 917PA ... maybe a new body could fit on Fran's 917 chassis?
After all, it's basically a 908/2 body on a 917K chassis.

As far as i know , the PA spider body was a complete new design of the porsche desginer Anatole Lapine (his son is a designer too at the audi design facility in california and friend of a mate of mine). It features the high runnig rear end, which had siginficant aerodynamic advantages vs the first 917 and was one of the things which lead to the development of the later 917 K Coupe.

Except beeing a spider and having a similar looking front, i dont think it has had much to do with the 908/2.

Sorry this took me a few days to post, but as long as the subject was Porsche....Back in May of 03, the following car was offered on racecars.com. It would be a natural to extend the RCR917 platform to this interesting little rocket...

1972 Porsche EBS Spyder racecars.com 1 May 2003

Serial Number: 005
Frame Number: 005
Engine Number: #6930106
Logbooks: Current PCA, CVAR; past SCCA, SVRA
Condition: Very Good
Price: $100,000 USD ONO
Location: Texas, USA

Description
Mechanical overhaul of almost every item. Just raced and won it’s group at PCA Club Race. Won 2002 CVAR championship. Race ready immediately including good tires/rains.
History
Car was built as a one-off by Porsche in the Weissach works. Several engineers were asked to build an off-budget, "skunk-works" car using "spare" items from the works. Eberhard Braun designed/built this car which raced in the Interserie (small block division). You'll note the remarkable resemblance to the 917 series. It was then sold to Max Moritz who raced it and then converted it to a hill climb car. It was retired and sold after several years to Americans who transported it to the US, did some restoration but never raced it. It was then bought in Texas and raced professionally in Mexico and the southwest and as an ASR car in SCCA. Then sold in upstate New York, and raced in SVRA and HSR. The Current owner bought it after it sat in the garage for about 8 yrs. Over the last year I have rebuilt or replaced many items, some of which are listed below. The car won the Corinthian Vintage championship beating a Lola T-70 and even once beat a McLaren Shadow! This car just last week won 1st overall in the Porsche Club of America sprint race at Texas World Speedway where it's times were competitive with the former Seikel team, LeMans-winning Porsche GT3RS which was in the other run group.
Recent Competition History
Just raced in PCA where it won first overall and ran times competitive with a former LeMans winning Porsche GT-3RS. Won CVAR 2002 championship with races at Texas World Speedway and Hallet.

Back in the late 70s or so one of my friends had one of these for a season....I had a chance to take it out once and was changed forever...The guy who bought it stuffed it backwards into a concrete wall in practice for his first race. It sat wrecked in a Portland Oregon race shop for years....Recently I have asked around, and no-one knows where it ended up..It was REALLY stuffed, including the tub, Only the front wing and wheels were undamaged. Everything else was toast. I have always wanted one...Though totally impracticable, it would be a fun machine to replicate and enjoy..add some tiny fenders :idea:and your on the road!
T332-Redmonds-Teretonga05.jpg

I forgot to mention..Lola T332
My friends started life with a Traco Chevy, and a brace of Weber downdrafts, legal for SCCA Formula 5000, 5 liters...after a cracked block it ended with a locally built short block machine dto match the Traco, but with a few extra cubes..big Hewland box, compact multi plate clutch, normal stuff for the day. SCCA had recently ended the F5000 as a National points class and these cars were only being run in regionals, and other clubs...Still a great weekend ride..Too bad it was destroyed..I am sure with today's parts and repications, the chassis tag could be saved and new car built around it. If anyone has a clue as to what happened to Terry's 332, I would like to know. It was in Pierre's Motors racing shop for a long time. I asked Arniw Loyning a few years ago about this car, and the guy who runs the local race car parts place, but neither of them know anything.

Fran, this would be a real intersting project...I think a club racing series based on this old Lola design with all RCR built spec. cars, Chevy LS series engine...Hmmmm..

Greetings and first post. Apologizes if already suggested, how about the Corvette C7R? I remember seeing this in an old magazine at the doctors office about 6 months ago and was floored. Mid engine great looks.......that's my suggestion for a paycheck submission.
