GT40 45th reunion at Road America

I saw his car at the Concours and it really caught my eye. Well done to say the least. I would be interested in talking with him if you have any contact info on him. He is using the FAST XIM and XFI ECU and Fuel Injection control systems. I would like to talk to him about his impressions. Anyone who knows him or how to contact him, I would appreciate the info in a PM, or have him contact me.
Thanks,

Bill

Mike,
I was so busy checking out his version of the electronics, I didn't really notice to much else about the car. I believe it was black and I want to say it was a Mk I, but don't bet on it. I was impressed on how neat and clean it was. Everything in its place and the electronics didn't stand out unless you really knew it was there. The red anodised boxes were the only giveaway. He chose to hide his coil packs on the bulkhead wall and most who saw them would think they were relays. Mine are not half that neat. May have to rewire mine at a later date. I chose standard Chevy LS 1 coil packs. The last 10% of my build got to be so expensive I felt I had to hold down some of the cost. May upgrade to the pretty ones later on.

That is the same info I found. It is his office address. With that and the SPF data(home town only, less than 20 miles away), it has to be him. I am contacting him to get some info. When I hear from him I will post it here.

any pics?
i went with Big Stuff 3, but im not sure it matters much.

I forgot to take my trusty camera in the haste to get on the road. So I bought one of the disposable ones. If I got a pic of it, it will be developed in a day or two. When I get in touch with the good doctor, I will ask for some shots of it.

Gentlemen,
I have been re-reading this record of the RA event again! I can't tell you how much I envy all who were there. Just one question please, in post #271, Johann's post, there is a picture of a MKII without the brake scoops on the rear deck. Can anyone enlighten me as to that car's heritage and how many of the MKII bodies were made without the scoops. I await your reply.
Garry

After reading about that car a few months back, to finally see it was amazing. I took a lot of pictures so if anyone wants some, im sure i can send it to you. The car still had the French inspection tag!

It's taken awhile to get caught up, after coming home from Road America. I find it difficult to find the right words to thank Ross Henry & Rick Muck and there better halves, who contributed to a fantastic weekend at Elkhart Lake. The accomodation was an 18th century mansion on the Lake. Great food & great company, which made for a wonderful time.
A special thanks to Dennis Olthoff for letting Ross Henry and myself take his GT 40 on the track after breakfast Sunday morning. It was incredible! Hopefully, I will get back to a track and be able to participate, and be able to enjoy another weekend with with Ross, Rick & Ian Clark.
Thanks again for a weekend I'll never forget.

Mark,
Thank you for that article. A very interesting car. I really like the look without the scoops. Is the front clip the same shape as the other MKII's? It looks right, somehow.

I agree with Rick all the pictures I have seen show the all of the eight MKII with the bulges over the wings. I know on good authority that P1016 the third placed Holman and Moody entry did not have this feature in the previous Sebring race. But it sure did at Le Mans. If Bruce Mclaren thought this feature was detirmental to performance then this is disproved as the Ken Miles entry was quicker than him??
The new new front clips for the 1966 Le Mans cars were adapted for one reason the 'bottoming' at Daytona!

you can buy the SPF MKII without the snorkels....I saw that they have back clams without the snorkels attached if you have a SPF already and want to change. I thought about it as I like the cleaner lines. I might wait until I hit a deer or something.
