thank you Jean-Marc - moral support is sufficient in this case ;-)!!!
All went well on my test drive today. Throttle is much smoother and (down) shifting is much easier now due to improved pedal position.
However, I need to look into better heat protection for the sparking coils to extend their life span, either by extra insulation or relocation.
