1979 930 lsd transaxle

I have a 1979 930 transaxle with factory LSD. I drove the car prior to removal and it shifts through all gears without problem. There is an area on the rib where the clutch cable would mount when used in a 930 that is ground like it rubbed on something possibly drove over something etc...........It was still able to retain the clutch cable and should not affect its use in a mid engine application. I can send pictures if interested. $2500.00 firm.

Hi Cory,

The price for this transaxle seems low and as we know the transaxle market is quite small. We have had a number of "transaxle" scams in the past year and some of the posts have corresponded with scams on Rennlist and PelicanParts that have recently occurred with transaxle purchases. Some members are weary of posts like this and I would urge potential buyers to use caution. No offense to you, but when the first post from a user is on a transaxle sale it brings up flags.

I understand your concern. I encourage you to get on pelicanparts and see my usage. I buy and sell a lot of items on Pelicanparts and used to do a little on rennlist all though I find more quantity of good deals on Pelican. I own a reputable Porsche repair shop in the Oklahoma city area. The reason for the less than normal price on the transaxle is the slight damage to the web where the clutch cable would normally attatch. I started out asking $3500 for it but some people are concerned about the attatchement even though it was usable the way it was . There are pictures of this trans on pelican and also a add for a g50 20 that I currently have for sale. I rebuild tons of g50 gearboxes and have alot of parts for those since my club race customers and myself run g50s in our cars. I think this is a really good deal for someone who doesn't care about the web where the scrape is . If someone doesn't buy it I will use the diff in my next 915 race gearbox and part the rest of it out.

I don't mind your skepticism.

Thanks for listening

Ron, I see you are a Buell owner as well. I have had all generations of buells since the s2 and currently ride a xb9 lightning with a factory race kit. It is a joy to ride and I have logged about 16,000 miles on it in the last two summers. I also have a s1w that I just used the goodies in a pro street frame made by rowe machine. It is proving to be alot of fun to play with as well.

Hi Cory,

I am pleased you are not offended and I do appreciate the comments. We are a bit "skeptical" since we had one member ripped off in 2007 on a transaxle, and another lost a similar amount of money on a Rennlist scam. Glad to see that my comments have not caused you any problems.

Cool with the XB9, don't know of where a used street Drummer is do you (valve still functional, not made anymore)?

Pipes they make for Buells, made here in NC actually. But the guy doesn't make the ones that keep the exhaust valve functional anymore, he only makes race pipes. Sorry to digress, I'll PM you or take it off line. Back to transaxles for sale.

If anyone needs a visual on the trans I would be glad to dirve up to Edmond (I llive less than 20 miles away) and take a few pictures for you. Besides, he has some very nice cars for sale I need look at. :pepper::):pepper:
