Scoff if you want, but on kit cars and such, I use a Mustang 2 front end strut bushing. It's on the far right of included pic of my Cobra.
Here's the big plus. With a lock nut, you can adjust the firmness by how hard you smush it. I welded the bottom cupped washer to a piece of square tube, and the motor mount has a thickened plate with a hole. It was a far better solution than the Mopar motor mounts Lone Star speced.
