As a disinterested foreigner, even though i used humour, i feel the plans as proposed, at the least smack of a severe lack of sensitivety.
Perhaps i should relocate by business plan to right outside the door of the proposed establishment. The waft of frying bacon and crispy pig ears would add something, i believe, to the friday prayer meeting.

Wow Jim. I have never been so personally attacked by anyone, especially on this forum. I have expressed my beliefs and my core values. I certainly didn't expect this to become personal.
Some information for you. The article does show when he said it and it appears to have been said by him more than once.
We are a Christian Nation as we are still 78% Christian in this country. Certainly we have a melting pot of values, ideas, cultures, and faiths. That is part of the great fabric of the USA. I am certain that you don't believe that this country was founded on Christian values, but studying the men of the Constitution, you may find this to be different.
The reason that we had a comment written by Thomas Jefferson of the "separation of church and state" was from a letter that he had written. It certainly not in the Constitution. The founders of this country didn't want a State sponsored religion, like the entanglement of England and the Catholics from years past. Thomas Jefferson did attend a Christian church each week. It was held in a building owned by the government. I don't recall which building it was in.
Lastly, Mormons are Christians. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the actual name of the Church. And yes, they do believe that the Untied States of America has been a Christian Nation.
Obviously some Christian has hurt you. No, I don't mean to make this personal, but you seem very angry. We will never change each others minds about anything as you are deeply rooted in your belief system as I am in mine.
I will go and enjoy the other parts of this forum that are fun. Like cars.

You are right, Jim....keep in mind that agendas dictate the type of information that is presented!
I'd like to point something out to the Bee-OH "haters".....I sorta like the way this guy honors his word. He ran on a platform of change, you can't argue that he's shaken things up (even if you don't like the way things are a 'shakin); he ran on a platform that promised health care change, he delivered (even if you don't like the changes); he ran on a platform that promised a staged withdrawal from Iraq, he's delivering.
To those who think Bee-OH is the worst president ever, I'd simply ask how long has it been since we had a president who made such efforts to honor the promises he made in his campaign? Too often the campaign promises are forgotten as soon as the election is over.........
IMHO he's not doing such a bad job :thumbsup: , and his promised withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq is a welcome change from the old guard, who wanted to continue our involvement there with no schedule for withdrawal.
I know there will be plenty who have differing opinions, no problem. Just my $.02 worth.

Tom, I've found I started understanding the Paddock Jacobins a lot more as I was reading Salon.com, the Huffington Post and listening to NPR. Then punctuate all that data with the wisdom of Keith Obermann and it makes the evaluations of your sources pretty easy. Mr. Olbermann is a hero of the left because his hatred of anything conservative became so venomous that he became a big hero to the Move-on, Daily Kos-type crowd.
Catch his shtick soon though, his ratings are in the tank and they are rumored to be grooming a successor. He's getting his clock cleaned by Jacobin hate target Bill O'Reilly of the evil never-to-be-trusted Fox News Network.

It comes down to many liberals voting for Mr. Obama to prove to themselves they weren't racists (it was cool, like wearing a turtleneck and burning your draft card in the 60s). In my mind with the news on the economy, the deficit, Iran, Afghanistan, Gitmo, the oil spill this question is what will voters do in November to prove they aren't idiots. The Democrats have controlled congress since January 2007 and have enjoyed a monopoly of power with the White House since 2008 and they have failed. The best they seem to have this election cycle is to try to recycle blame-Bush slogans. The problem for the President's Party is the last Republican Congress under Bush was 2006 and everyone may just be quietly asking himself or herself “Am I better off in August 2010 than Aug. 2006?” Is my home value the same, is my employment status the same, is my retirement savings the same and am I safer…

Jim, when you use someone's name before each point you are trying to make, it is for posturing, censuring, or used in a demeaning manor. I am certainly not a school boy that needs to be schooled by a teacher.

Lets see he made the switch so that he could AVOID the draft (Very American)!!!!!! Nothing about what he did speaks of patriotism or love of ones country actually it goes to show just what kind of man he is. It wouldn't be to hard or far of a stretch to make a comment like he does want to kill you since he most certainly doesn't love his country!!!!! As Cen. Henning Von Tresckow put it " The worth of a man is certain only if he is prepared to sacrifice his life for his convictions" so to everyone lets leave the meat bag ALI out of this as he is in my eyes one of the lowest forms of life form in existence!
