Battle for the Ashes 2013

Well thank you Mark, we try old chap we try. Of course I did think of saying something like " we'll done England, there is at least one Englishman in your side is there not?" I also thought of saying that if the English board of control had hired David's Racemet the umpires would not have had to call stumps early because of the light on a flood lit field as they would have known it was going to rain and would not have looked like Prats who were attempting to manipulate the game to ensure they had a result at Ladbrokes.

But of course my gentlemanly sensitivity precluded me from saying any of that, so I confined myself to a simple "well done chaps" .

I anticipate that the 'sell' button for seats at the ground in Durham will be frantically used today as people try to offload their seats. I for one will not be attending in spite of Durham being the city of origin of my mothers family and my younger brother and I were born there. I also learned some of the skills of survival there as well as I never had the local accent so as a result, I carried a bicycle chain in my school bag.

David, haven't check this thread for a few days but did know England retained the Ashes. Agree it makes the last two Tests redundent. Sorry about the tpyo too. Englands weather came through for them again as in the 3rd test it wasn't looking very pretty. :shy:

This is running out of time and light.
Root is bowling - what a waste of time.
Broad has to bowl but Cook is losing the plot.

Well done chaps, jolly good show what!
What I expected sadly, there is something missing from the Aussie side they are playing like a bunch of talented individuals rather than a team.

It resumes tomorrow. I am trembling. I have several bottles in the top section at 3c - in fact 15 bottles all ready to go.

ON YOUR MARKS..........

Not cricket.:) A lady walked into a Police Station and the desk Sergeant said "Can I help you?"

"Yes" she said, "I'd like to report a case of sexual assault".

"Where did it happen?" the Sergeant asked.

"In the park just down the road" she replied.

"Can you describe what happened?"

"Yes, I was walking along the footpath in the park near
the trees when a man jumped out of the bushes and dragged me in there,
removed my underwear then he dropped his pants to his knees and had his
way with me".

"Could you give me a description of him?"

"Yes, he was wearing white shoes, long white trousers, a
white shirt and he had these two big long pads from his feet up to and over his knees, one on each leg".

"Sounds to me like he was a cricketer, most probably a batsman", said the Sergeant.

"Yes", said the lady, "He was an Aussie Cricketer".

“That's very observant", said the Sergeant, "You worked that out from his accent?"

"No", she replied. "I worked it out because he wasn't in for very long".
