Chris and Bill-

That is one NICE GT40. I suspect the pictures really don't do it justice. What engine is going in?

Congrats Bill

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

Bill D,

Thanks, I'm kinda fond of it myself!
I have a 351 Windsor pushing 450+HP sitting in my garage along with a G50 T-axle w/Quaife LSD. I went with a 750 Edelbrock, Performer RPM manifold, Performer RPM 60cc aluminum heads,Crane cam,9.5/1 compression Manley pistons and rods, aluminum roller rockers,Melling oil pump,MSD ignition and a bunch of other goodies.
All that fuel injected, computer controlled stuff is way beyond me.
Give me a set of points and a condenser and
I'd be happy. I think I still have a feeler gauge somewhere.....
Now all I have to do is wait for the car to get here, so I can get to work! It should
arrive at the end of this month. I feel like
a kid on Christmas Eve! The anticipation is
killing me!

What a beauty! Can you get as far as Annapolis without running into John Law? Let me know if/when you are going to be in this neck of the woods.

Bill, if you need any help with pickup, etc. let me know. I have brother in Newark and I am there a lot.

Looks great!

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

Bill,

I'll give you my address so you can ship it to me. It's awesome!

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

Bill !, You're killing me here ! Here I am
working like crazy to get this RF done and here you are getting a GT you can drive in a
couple weeks. Well, I guess that's just
motovation for me to get going a little quicker.

A really beautiful car Bill. I love those
headrests so the safety harnesses can pass
underneath. The console is neat too.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Also, thanks to all for your invaluable help over the past few months.
If everyone was as helpful as those here on the Forum, the world would be a better place
indeed.
Dick,
I have a prominent spot picked out for that plate. Thanks again.

Bill, she has turned out beautifully. I don't know how Peter Ransom at DRB could put such a car together & then bring himself to send it off without even having a drive !!

Please let us all know how things go, & what levels of euphoria that you experience on "the big day" !

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

Chris,

My car left the shop yesterday by truck
on it's way to Sydney, then San Francisco,
then Washington,D.C.,then Baltimore,Maryland.
There were a couple of delays due to the
transporter being full, but it will finally
arrive around the 3rd to 4th. Thank God!
I don't know how much longer I could have
waited.
My wife compared me to an expectant father, only worse! I guess I'll be easier
to live with in a few days. Of course that
will be due to me spending the next few weeks in the garage, instead of pacing the floor.

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

I think I can immagine what you are going through. I hope you have a grand showing so us local folks (I know how to pronounce Lewis) can see your DRB baby. After your experience and seeing the pictures they are on my short list.

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

Well I may know how to pronounce it, but I can't spell it (Lewes). What the heck I'm an engineer.

Bill:
We have a car trailer (brand new as a matter of fact) do you need any help getting from Baltimore to Lewes. We promise not to borrow car, or pretend it's ours. Let me know if you need any help (pronounced "hep" down here in the South.)
Wish I had a GT40 for this weekend. The Wahington DC Ferrari dealer is having a party for Enzo's birthday.

Re: Bill Bayard\'s New DRB- -

Jim,

I appreciate the offer, but have already
made arrangements for a rollback to pick
up the car on Monday. I even managed to get AAA to pick up the bill.
Let me know if you would like to come over
to see the car. Annapolis isn't much more than a stones throw away.
What type and how much for the trailer?
I have been looking for one myself.
Thanks again for your kind offer.
Regarding the Ferrari party, it would be
fun to drive a 40 there, to see if anyone would step up to the challenge.
Bill
