Brake and clutch cylinder...

Trying to decide if I want to put the cylinders through the front bulkhead or back toward the driver (and reachable via the top access panel).

What do most of you do?

Will be using top mounted pedals so one of these will be getting ordered. Note accelerator needs to be separate and is supplied along with the PCM for the Coyote.

Darrin, have you looked at sizing? I built this exact model of pedal in CAD based off of the drawings on wilwood's site, and dropped it in my Tornado assembly. To get room to fit the masters, your pedals end up literally touching the floor. This is why the choices are pretty much limited to a build-your-own hanging setup that usually has a ratio of 5:1 or less unless you get VERY creative with packaging, or mount a floor pedal box (which becomes close to impossible if your steering rack is mounted low down as well.)

Renato has what assembly? Is that a Wilwood part number? EDIT: Found it...

I was nervous about the lack of power brakes until I drove a buddy's car with a 6:1 ratio recently. I had bad memories from my first car...'67 Plymouth Valiant, 4 wheel drum, manual brakes, manual steering. It always felt like it was trying to kill me.

I'm probably selling my boosters/servos that were with my Tornado kit. PM me if you're looking for them.

Looking at things and doing some measuring, I think facing outward (which means drilling holes in the paneling...no big deal) will give me the most room to work with the steering (no cylinders in the way) so that's the way I'll go with it. Think I may opt for the shorter pedal length though (12.25 total height with about 10 of that in the pedal swing area) to give me some more room to play with. It will make it 5 to 1, but that's fine for power assist.

I did some more measuring last night and ended up up going with the shorter, reversed Wilwood pedal assembly here: Wilwood High-Performance Disc Brakes - Pedal No: 340-4828

I'll need to route the hydraulic lines to and from it from outside the bulkhead since it is reverse which might be a pain, but it was the only option to get the shorter pedal length I wanted. Going to be fun getting this part done....not!

And when you fit it do it on something like chair runners so you have adjustable pedals! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

You know, that's a good idea. Might require a bit of fabrication but I think it would be worth it.

I am planning to add a remote brake bias adjustment knob too BTW.
 
This was talked about recently in another thread as well, but there are 12v Linear Actuators available, like HERE that would allow you to build a power adjustable pedal setup if you mounted the pedals on sliders.
 
Well I didn't go with sliders but I did make it manually adjustable in that I drilled the brackets I fabricated so you could adjust the pedals left, right, up, down, in and out. See my build log for what I did. Took a while drilling the 50+ holes (many through stainless steel) but it's done now and glad I have it.

Going with the shorter 5:1 pedals is absolutely the way to go to get the space I needed. Don't know how longer ones could sit high enough to actuate right (you would be hitting them with your heel).
