Budget stacks.

Has anyone used one of these stack systems from Procomp overstock? I have a set in the workshop that are going on a friends 302 and they seem to be very good value for money at $1300.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SBF-DOWND...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27bdfadca8

I am pretty sure its the same sort of thing . The first picture`s are of the one we have here .Here is a birds eye view of the cross shaft for the throttle linkage.

Edit, I have just had a quick look at the ports, other than an hours or so`s work to clean up the casting flash and port match they are in pretty good shape.

I think that was / is the same intake Tom was about to try with IDA's on his car, hard to 'see' how large the drillings are into the plenum & the position of those drillings to determine whether they might help overcome the restriction imposed by the IDA's on a non-plenum individual runner setup. Toms car still had 4bbl fitted at time of accident so dont think he had tried that setup yet.

I have experienced what looks like the same product but a different name that was here in Sydney.
In no way do I defame this product so I want to get that out their.

My experience with the product I had that seems to no longer exist on the net.
The brass shafts, when the engine was off the throttles opened and closes fine.
When the eng was running and you blipped the throttle the vacuum would pull the throttle shafts down and make them bind causing the rpm to come down slow.

You could watch this happening, I proved it by blipping the throttle and kill the ignition, the throttles would drop back straight away.

I think the distance on the double body was to long for the brass shaft.
On a single I think it would be fine.

I can see it has brass shafts and they look the same.
It is a different name (stating that again).
Both products are Australian.
That fuel rail extrusion, the dye is owned by a company here in Sydney that's what makes me think the 2 products are linked even though trading under different names.
Even the linkages look the same, They will head fuck you by the way because when you calibrate you have to undo the grub screws ,move it a bit and tighten the grub, which by the way will find the old dimple in the shaft and end up in exactly the same spot.

The last pic has 8 separate bodies not 4 lots of 2.

If I where you I would just fit them and see if the problem occurs but at least you are aware and you wont waist hours like I did trying to sort it.
If this is a paying job be very clear that the fit up maybe the easy part and charge for every hour if it becomes a pain.
Because they are cheap does not mean you have to suffer.

I know a few guys with them and they all have had to tweak and dick around, even heavy springs.

I made my own because I can and I hate fixing stuff I have payed for.

Have just looked at you ebay link in more detail.
You say your friend has just purchased the ebay item and that is the item on your bench.
They are 2 different products.
Ebay pics are not what is on your bench.

So is the question relating the ones on your bench or the ones in the ebay pics.

My above post is related to the item on your bench, which I think is an Australian product.

He was sold these as a pro comp set up Jim so god know where they originate from, They could be an older model , I will take your info on board and check out the shutting of the butterflies before I fit them. There is no makers name or any numbers cast into them which is odd.

I got the ebay set at home.....thereare a few problems with it. The supplied fuel hoses and rail fittings are dodgey. The mainfold is a bit suss as the drilled holes dont seem in line. I cant see any problems with the throttle bodies, think they are motor bike items.
