Comparison

During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.
We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.
It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

Yeah but what about after lunch? Didn't you invent the jet engine and put a satellite into orbit?

"Great minds think alike", Al! :D

By the time I'd read about 1/3rd of your post, I had come to the very same conclusion!

Yes Al,

When Americans all work together we can do incredable things.........

Today we can see what happens when Americans to not work together, when one side for short term political gain, refuses to to do anything, from passing Judicial appointments to passing a budget.

So Al, when President Roosevelt was doing all those great things, did the Republicals....

Scream about the debt?

Refuse to pass a budget?

Refuse to extend the debt ceiling?

Refuse to confirm appointments?

Refuse any Compromise?

Yes Al you have really pointed out the problem, when Americans work together we can do great things..................

You Conservatives should learn from Al's example, but I'm guessing you won't.

Larry, you can hardly complain when the purpose of the initial post was designed to provoke (which you yourself endorsed) and then got a predictable response, can you?

No, can't complain. Still, it's remarkable that the point Al was making flew right over Jim's head like an F-18 off a carrier and generated a response that blame-shifted in an incredulous fashion.

Basically, Jim is saying the ACA's website failures are due to those damn republicans. Seriously? Even the most arrogant and self-righteous of liberals (Obama and his team) can't sell that one. Can't wait for the graph on it though.....

Yes. I can. I'M A WOGG, yeeeeeeeeew mizzerbull...:veryangry:

But, I wasn't really "complaining" as such...'just expressing (in a concise manner) my never ending astonishment re: Jim's talent for deflection and redirection no matter what the topic.

Now, go microwave your dinner...or whatever meal it's time for over there.

The topic as you put it, is obvious, old news, boring, induces coma-like symptoms in 90% of Paddock visitors and regulars alike and worst of all, offers little in the way cultural enlightenment for which the Paddock is rightly (in)famous.

Sorry, Democrats can be WOGGS too can't they?

They're certainly allowed to...but, are incapable of attaining the proper degree of WOGGishness on the proper side of the issues.

Isn't Obama a WOGG?

Uh, no, Keith. Any lib will tell you Pres. Obama is black. So, given just that one 'fact' alone...how could he possibly qualify as a WOGG?

Ah, I suppose you would have to be a native of this country to get that one Larry, but never mind. Is he really black though? I mean, is black a colour or an identity? I never really figured that one out.

If one of his parents was 'white' then technically, he could be either couldn't he? Why would he be called just plain black then? I don't get that.

Comparisons??? How about these comparisons.

Which one had his retirement reduced by the most recent federal budget???

Hint: It's why I think we need to change out the lot of them at election time...

EXACTLY!!! EVEN FOREIGNERS GET IT! But, libs over here evidently don't. They get ALL bent out of shape if someone points out the President is molato - which he factually is...IOW, one white parent and one black. They'll tell ya that's a "RACIST!!!" and "outdated" term harking back to the days of slavery and it is therefore "BIGOTTED" and "OFFENSIVE" and blah, blah, and more blah. To hear them carry on you'd think there was something SHAMEFUL about being '1/2 and 1/2' anything. I just don't get it. What sane person does?

Remember, "P.C." above all else is at all times the watchword over here. "P.C." all the time about EVERY thing all day long.

Obviously I'm not a subscriber to, nor an advocate OF that particular song and dance.

To be honest, we have the same kind of issues here with children from mixed race parentage. It is said they get the worst of both worlds as they're not accepted by either, but given a choice, they seem to gravitate towards wanting to be black (Lewis Hamilton a case in point).

I guess it's something that will be debated for many years to come. Nature does throw up some oddities though, a couple I know (black guy white girl) gave birth to a totally white baby, which was perfectly fine until some 5 years later, he steadily and inexorably turned completely black! Some members of the family even claiming that the kid had been swapped out at some stage.

To be fair - it must be a difficult issue that probably will get easier as mixed race marriages grow exponentially. In the UK, we have a very significant Asian population (Indian Continent, not Japan) and when the females manage to break out of their dreadful cultural imprisonment, then you will see a massive rise in the 'melting pot' of races.

Good point Larry,

Perhaps my question would better be stated as:

In which picture do all the individuals have pension benefits cuts by the new bipartisan federal budget?
