ECU Alternatives..

Hi all -

I'm looking at options to manage an Audi 4.2 V8 motor at the moment.

The motor has variable cam timing and I was thinking Motec M800 but wondered if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks...

MegaSquirt II is pretty popular here in the states. Does variable valve timing. Jeff Young switched over to MS from Helltech, man, what an improvement.

Megasquirt III is now in full production (www.diyautotune.com). It is an improvement over MS II with features like true sequential injection (MS II was bank 1-bank 2 only) and COP capabilities. Availiable in kit and assembled form. Very customizable.

Good service from above company. When I ordered mine, I had it in three days. They also just released a wiring harness that plugs into MS or the optional relay board.

Haven't gotten mine up and running yet (haven't started on it), but I've heard nothing but good stuff about Megasquirt.

PS-They (Megasquirt) have a forum, too, on which there is great help from DIY'ers.
