Gregg, :lipsrsealed: :hanged:Yeah I wish! Just about every one I know is younger than me,
unfortunately.

Pete, your spelling is terrible, Im sure you mean 'Fleece Book', maybe you need a trim, or is the Wool getting in your eyes! or are you being just a bit of a 'Dag' :):):)

AJ seems a bit confused too or is he talking about another kind of 'Fleiss' :):)

Funny you should put this up Pete.
I became a member because my daughter is obsessed with it,but its been a day and it looks like high maintenance to me.
I just dont get it.

She is going OS for a few months so it will be a way of keeping in touch, I think it has its merits in these areas but other than that I dont see value.

For people who socialize a lot is a way of keeping in contact I would think.
Its the new generation of insecure young people who need to be in contact with there friends constantly,it was mobiles know its face book.
I always tell my 2 kids when you do catch up with your friends there will be nothing to talk about.

Sorry to all those that got my, be my friend email from face book as I pushed the wrong button and emailed everyone of my address book.
Donkey.

Pete,
I rather dislike Face Book. A cousin of mine in Arizona wanted me to be his "Face Book Friend" and I told him to p#ss off. My daughter uses it, but it all seems a bit wanky to me. Maybe I'm just old and grumpy, because a lot of the friends of my kids (ages mid-twenties) use it.

I am there Pete!
Of couse under fake name, cause I wellknow girlfriend will kill me to see the "friends" I have (almost all american pornstar, the brazzers, LOL,)a LOT of famous body builders and some guys from the forum (paul skett p4 nut and Jim J6 :D. Jim was the first friendship I asked.. hope he laugh sometimes reading me,and I think he does cause too cool guy;)... ).

They made also some gt40 owners group, but they never "accepted" me there :( (btw I think I can survive eh..).

Facebook is perfect if u need to waste some time in minigames and doing other people business (in italian we say "farsi i cazzi degli altri..LOL..")

Btw on fb I am "Don Carmelo detritis", I accept all....have a look at my "friends" and laugh:D:D

I also made a group to rehave Governor Shwarzenegger in shape as e was befre politic, cant stand him as a couch potato..:)

Well, guess I am also one of the younger ones, and don't use it. Only heard about. Of course, everyone should be open minded for new things.

But from my point of view, the use is quite critical from different sides, I only take 2:

1. I already heard form friends, that companies staff managers or managers from companies use this platform to reach informations about people who like to have a job in their company.

2. I don't know it, as already said, but I also guess, that the participants give a lot of personal information in this platform. More, that you (may be) ever will give to the public authorities. Of course, if you have nothing to hide, that's not the point. But, and this is may be philosophical question; Do I really want (as Individual) that so many informations are in the net about me ? May be when I am 20 years old, but if I will make some kind of a career later ?

3. A friend of mine spent hours on this platform. And I have heard from our IT-Administrator in the company, that there are really people (not named of course) who are on the face book during work. I think, that's a additional risk, for those who use this tool.

What are you thinking about ?

all all true..
It is also true u can decide to have a NON pubblic profile under privacy setting.
Depends always if u care or not, I personally do not, also cause my life is as self employed since35 yrs, and suspect will be the same way for the next century;).
It is a modern version of myspace..

I'm not on Facebook or Myspace - but I am on LinkedIn: Relationships Matter as this site is more for professionals to connect with each other than for fun and games.
BTW - I also started a GT40's enthusiasts group within LinkedIN.

If anyone would like an Invitation to join, please let me know what your email addy is and I shall send you one...

I have not and will not join FaceBook. I made the mistake of finding my 24 year old daughter's "MySpace" page, found out a whole bunch of stuff about her I really wish I didn't now know, have no interest in finding out more information of this manner.

I did sign up for a "MySpace" page in an effort to connect with other musicians, but haven't done anything with it, never go there myself as I find the features to be difficult to use. I get "Friend" requests from people I don't know, they don't know me, we've never heard of each other, what's up with that? In the end, I'd rather travel 5 hours to Pearl, TX to play in person at one of their monthly bluegrass festivals than spend 5 minutes on my "MySpace" page. I'm much more of a face-to-face type of guy, and by that I don't mean "Face"book, either.

One of the great things about the internet is the way in which it has made it easier to make friends at great distances....this forum is an excellent example, some of my forum friends live close, others live WAY far away, in different countries or on different continents. In that respect, we here at GT40s have developed our own little internet community, much as those who use MySpace or FaceBook do, we just have common interests (.....however, I must concede that my 24 year old daughter and her MySpace friends do have common interests, too--they all enjoy leaving rude and vulgar comments about each other--BARF!!!)

I'm on Facebook and Linkedin. Facebook mostly to keep track of my kid's Facebook pages, plus I've regained contact with some old friends. Linkedin is more professional-related.

I joined FB because my riding coach had posted some pictures of one of her students competing in Germany and phoned me to suggest I join to have a look at them. So far she is my only friend, but I for sure will ask Don Carmelo to be my friend. Hey Paolo.
About a year ago I had my I.T. department block both Face book and My space because a lot of my staff particularly the women were spending hours chatting on it.
