GT40 MkIV eye candy from SAAC 36

More eye candy....

The continuation Ford "J" in the trailer.
The car was minus the front clam shell and was about to head back to Colorado, so they let me climb inside and take a couple of shots...

Lots of fun and thanks for posting these... does the bronze one have an engine in it?

I like the E&F decals on the blue one's valve covers. I can't believe the engine can breathe through those dinky holes on the sides of the plastic box. Is that the only fresh air source for the carburetors?

They do have FIA papers .
Its only a few hundred dollars to have a car inspected by an FIA rep.
Its all the work in building the cars that raises the price....

Ah, FIA. I thought there was some sort of "Shelby" certification or something similar going on.

I saw one of the blue cars about 4 weeks ago at Olthoff's while it was there for some engine sorting. On a lift, without covers, you could admire the workmanship and use of materials. It was as if I was looking at the #3 MkIV (Andretti) I last saw in Boulder, Colorado. Somewhere between visual art and master craftsman. I'll see if I can provide more pictures here. Very nice work.

Jim,
You are welcome. I must thank Fran for filling in some of the blanks. As for the little tubes going in to the carb box they link right to the scoops on the outside. They must have worked it all out. The bronze one was the one with the empty engine bay... very fuel efficient... except it didn't go very fast.

Ron, as for the continuation tag, I hear that some consortium of folks bought Kar Kraft from Ford, lock stock and barrel. I may be way off base here but they own the rights to the ID tags. They had the manufactures ID tags on the cars as well as any other badges which were likely on the earlier cars. I could have photo'd them but didn't. It appeared they have done their homework on those babies. :stunned: Stunning and as TU152 said "visual art".

Swift, I have know idea who does the T44's, I was so in awe of the cars I couldn't think to ask that. Heck they may have gotten them in the purchase of Kar Kraft. Someone else will have to answer that question...Fran, Ron, Ferris Buler? Anyone???

Here are a couple more pics, one is the empty engine bay, the other are the owners of these MkIVs with them for the photo shoot.
