Hello from Bedfordshire UK

Hello

I am a photographer and digital artist from Bedfordshire, England and have found this forum whilst working on a digital art project.

My plan is to produce a series of pieces inspired by the late Simon Owen's work that illustrate the history of the GT40.

The forum has already provided a great deal of detail for me as to the exact fittings used on different cars and with each car being a little different this is quite some challenge.

I would be interested to get any suggestions as to cars that should feature in my works, the full project will probably feature 12 cars.

Thanks

Paul

Paul, Big shoes to fill as Owen did some fantastic pieces but we'll look forward with excitement to seeing what you come up with for this fantastic car.

As for suggestions for GT 40 cars....I'm sure you're aware of the 4 different Marks each one with its own significance. You've got the MK 1 car winning Le Mans twice 1968 & 1969 (Serial # 1075) the MK II's finishing 1,2,3 in 1966, the MK IV winning in 1967 and the few and very rare MK III's. All designs are very easy on the eye and that has too make painting them easier I would think.

Good Luck with your project.

So to give you an idea of where I am at so far.

Have so far done the MK1 of Le Mans 1968 and 1969 in its different Gulf colours, the three MK2's of 1966 Le Mans and the Sebring 12hr MK1 of Alan Mann Racing.

Currently doing the XGT-1 car of Alan Mann Racing from the 1966 Le Mans.

The images are all created digitally within Photoshop in the same way that Simon Owen created his works.

Could you post an example perhaps, or a link? Interested to see what can be done with Photoshop that isn't already achievable with a decent camera and good light...

Really looking for feedback and suggestions rather than trying to sell.

As for camera and good light, as a photographer I totally understand this but when something no longer exists, then of course a photo is impossible.

My aim with these pieces is for them to be a stylised representation of each car rather than a technical drawing.
