Larry, I appreciate that you don't think she means some of that stuff. That's good.
What's bad is you appear to think that purposefully crafting an outrageous message that you WANT the lowest common denominator to believe in order to be divisive and incite hate for the other side is ok.
I believe A.C. means every
bit of what she says -
as far as what lies at the root of it, that is
. She
o-b-v-i-o-u-s-l-y uses satire/exaggeration/and what some refer to as "poetic license" to drive her points home in bold fashion.
E.g.: "If John Kerry had a dollar for every time he bragged about serving in Vietnam -- oh wait, he does."
Kerry and his minions have not-so-subtly blown his horn in this area
how many times? He even packed a camera (camera
S?) 'in country' to record his...uh...'exploits'.
(By contrast, I have ONE photo of
me in 'Nam [I don't even know where it is right now]. I can't recall who took it or why, or how I came to have a copy of it. I'd bet
most 'Nam vets don't have anywhere
near the
boatload of photos Kerry has...especially the number he 'posed' for in Hollywood-movie fashion. But then, most vets didn't have any future political aspirations back then -
or now for that matter. He DID - and, obviously, still DOES.)
(An aside: It should also be noted that Coulter's writings are
footnoted - referencing sources, etc. - to back up what she's said, and, so her reader can
look up whatever she's quoted IN CONTEXT.)
'You want examples of
really "hateful" people/comments? Research the utterings of Olberman, Schultz, Maher, Sarah Bernhard, Rahm Emanuel, and, of course, Martin Bashir...to name a few. You probably could add about half of Hollywood to the list as well.
What's bad is you appear to think that purposefully crafting an outrageous message that you WANT the lowest common denominator to believe in order to be divisive and incite hate for the other side is ok.
Oooooh, you mean like the "Surrender to me" campaign ad? Or the goofy "war on women"? The "war on unions"..."labor"..."the poor"..."the enviornment" and on and on?
