Funny you would ask! I was in Tehachapi yesterday talking to Pactrick Wehner who built a Factory Five Type 65. His build is amazing. Coyote Gen III with a Bowler T56 trans (close ratio 1st, 2nd and 3rd and overdrive 5th and 6th) specifically available for the Coyote engine and Gas-N headers and side pipes. Independent rear with 3.73 gears, Wilwood brakes, E-Power Steering, 19" Forgestar wheels with special rear offset with 305 front and 325 year tires. Really nice build but the interior is rough and yet to be finished. I took a few photos.

The NRG steering wheel adapter (P/N SRK-170H) and quick release (P/N SRK-280BK) allows a clean installation with the supplied column plastic trim and allows the use of the factory horn wiring. It also eliminates the annoying play in the RCR supplied quick release. Unfortunately, the nice GT-R steering wheel cannot be used due to the different mounting bolt patterns so I installed the NRG RST-009S-RS steering wheel that includes a horn button. You’ll need the Billet Specialties replacement horn wire P/N RP2510 to use the column wiring. I installed two Hella Sharp Tone horns as shown.

Kurtiss, Just curious if you have pictures of the weld and adapter part used for the steering wheel prior to placing the NRG adapter. Or does the NRG not require that welled on piece/
Thanks

Hi Bill. Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I haven't posted in over a year.
See the pic of the original steering wheel adapter (from Superlite) welded to the steering shaft. I carefully cut through the welds to remove it. The NRG adapter slides directly onto the steering shaft, no welding required. BUT, after I installed the NRG quick release, I felt the steering wheel was too close to my chest and not necessary, so I removed it. Then I noticed the space between the steering wheel and turn signal lever didn't allow room for my fingers so I installed a small spacer. Works well now and it's comfortable.

I did it. I ordered and received a Factory Five Racing 30th Anniversary Type 65 (Shelby Daytona) component car. I ordered it with the Gen 4 Coyote engine and Tremec TKX 5 speed transmission. Let the fun begin (again)! I have registered on the FFR Forum but haven't posted anything yet.

I'll still be available for questions regarding my GT-R build.

Congrats Kurtiss!
FFR makes some pretty nice kits. I did assist on a Type 65 build about 20 years ago.. They’ve come a long way!
