Kva c-type front upright questions

Hi All,

More questions I'm afraid.

I've removed both front uprights (Spindles/Knuckles) from my KVA, to find that the taper in the steering arm on one side is VERY badly worn, and doesn't match the TRE.

Also on one upright, the bottom balljoint is turning in the upright and has worn the taper badly, and the bolt holes on both balljoints are elongated.

The uprights don't look like photographs of Granada uprights that I've seen. They look like giant Herald uprights.

Has anybody any ideas, (and part numbers if possible !)

I dont know for sure, but it may be possible to repair your uprights by reaming out your holes, with a tapered reamer..

ive just found this site...they may have what you need

I'm hoping to attach photos of mine, which looks to be same as yours.

I really need to know whether it is from a Mk I, II or III Granada.

Ditto, the bottom ball joint.

Balljoint is a Mk1 and 2 lower balljoint I think. Try ebay number 190464011112 for a spare. but it looks like the photos have a brass insert in the taper? maybe just the photo!!..

Also if you email you personal email address I will send you a Granada parts catalogue from a german company who are online.

Never used them but have helped me out with email info.

Hi Geoff,

The uprights themselves are the same as Mk3 onwards Cortina, just a 5 stud hub on them. So you might have more luck finding them.

I do have an odd Cortina upright around, which hand do you need, if its the same as the odd one i have you are in luck!
