LSA SLC Build Log

Any more progress on the LSA? What did the clearance to the blower end up like. I manage to fit mine under the rear glass.

I see guys with different approaches to supporting the pivot point. This is what I did. Solid round bar and cup.

Been looking to add a front sway bar. Wasn't sure on best location, but this is what I went with .....
I fabricated side arms from 4140 and the bar is 1 1/8" 4130.

Nicely done on that swaybar. I would have preferred to put mine on the upper part of the foot box as you (and Howard) have done, except it would have been going right through the trunk :(

You are doing some nice machine work on your build..Well done.

It looks like you are bolting the sway bar bracket from the inside. By doing this the front wall becomes part of the spring force and will flex. You might consider a backing plate (much bigger washer) inside the foot well to spread the forces on the front firewall. It might reduce the flexing induced metal fatigue. .250" thick by 1.5" larger width and height over the width and height of the bracket (.75" all the way around) should do.

Bob,

Nice work so far. I am from the NW side of Ohio and am currently researching parts, designing, etc. for my build that will start this fall after I finish the wife' 66 GTO convertible I have been restoring. Ordering my kit in May. I have been looking for a good EPB option and may copy your Tesla calipers option. The other way I am looking to possibly go is High Spec Brakes from the UK. They make an electric spot caliper setup that is a complete system.

Nice "go-kart" session video, you are inspiring me even more!!
