I'm having some A/C issues on my early CAV with power going into the Air Con control unit but not going out. Does anyone know where I could locate a replacment or utilize something from a different manufacturer?
Well, I'm a little farther along. Bench tests indicate the Air Con control unit has a bad internal relay. (It's the black square in the photo). The good news is that it appears to be a common item part number HG4230-005-Z1C. The bad news is that I cannot seem to find anyone that will sell me less than 50 of them. Does anyone know of a retail electronic outlet that does single items?

Decoding that part number from http://www.tyhhk.com/pdf/HG/HG4230.pdf it's a sealed relay, 5V coil, 12A contact rating SPDT. Dimensions 20 x 16.5 mm, lead spacing 12 mm on one axis, 12.2 mm on the other.
In the Digikey catalog (www.digikey.com) I find a Potter & Brumfield T7C series relay part number T7CS5D-05, or Digikey part PB335ND, that meets all those specs for $1.56.
Good one Alan! It looks like that datasheet has a cross to the one he needs. I am looking at his original and I think it is a 12 Volt unit and not a 5 volt. Veek, you might want to buy the socket and solder that in so that replacements in the future are much easier...

It works!!!! Thanks for the help as it led me to find the relay (Mouser part #833H-1C-S-12VDC). I replaced it on the board and she works like new. Cost $1.56!
I will also post a summary on the CAV site for the archives.
Again, thanks for the forum support, especially to Alan and Ian at CAV Canada. It really made the difference.
