If it is for sale on this website it needs a few things - name, location, price, and contact information. If the fellow doesn't want that on the site then he probably doesn't want to sell his wheels here. Our garage sale rules, taken from the first post in this subforum:

For goodness sake Ron, you still dont get it do you ! A guy in the US tells me he has decided to dispose of unwanted GT40 parts, I decided it might be of benefit to the people on this forum to know that information and if interested to contact him via E mail. This is a private guy with no interest in the sort of politics that seems inherant here, or wish to have his personal details or contacts on this media, that is why E mails will be forwarded. Frank

Disposal of unwanted stuff is what the garbage can is for. In contrast, this guy wants to sell items in exchange for money. A potential buyer reasonably wants to know a) what's the asking price, and b) the location before spending a whole bunch of time on passing emails back and forth (only to find out the bits are in timbucktoo and way over priced....)

If the guy wants to sell the parts here then he can list them. He can be completely anonymous on GT40s.com, use a fake name, turn off email contact, the whole nine yards. The PM system will keep him safe and sound from the unwashed masses, even the admins.

What politics are inherent in the site?

OK RON, I apologise for getting frustrated with your system, and for any unwarranted remarks I have made to you. It was my idea alone to let this Forum know of parts available, NOT the owners idea or intention to do that, in fact he is anti this kind of promotion so I got it wrong big time ! However there have been several enquiries which have been passed on so it might benefit someone. However, what is the situation if someone pops up and says they want a set of Borrani wheels, or some other parts, we know where there are some but do we now say that, or keep quiet for fear of retribution ?

Frank, there is no retribution on this site.

If the person wants to sell on this site then the person needs to provide all the important information on this site so that people can contact them.

If the person doesn't want their contact information on the site, then the person doesn't want to sell on this site. Following this logic then you should not be selling their wheels for them on this site since they don't wish to comply with the site rules and structure.

If you want to send PMs to folks with the sellers information, call them, write letters, and so on that is all up to you.
