Ladies and Gentlemen

I've been thinking of a build for some time now and it is time to take the first step. I had better see if the cockpit feels as good as it looks. To that end, is there anyone in the Northwest that would allow me to sit in their GT40?
I'm located in Port Townsend Washington on the Olympic peninsula and would be happy to make a road trip to you unless you would like to come to P.T., in which case I'd treat you to lunch and a guided tour in trade.
I will enthusiastically await your replies.

Hi John, I see that is your first post, so welcome. If you undertake a build you can basically build the car to fit you, seat width, height and pedal box position can all be arranged to suit, as well as the famous "Gurney" bubble in the roof if you are tall.

Thanks for the prompt reply. And yes I will definatly build for a my 6' frame but would like to just sit in a car for a bit before I start the investment.
I also need to network with the local owners and builders as I'm sure I'll need some advice as the venture moves forward.

Hi John,
I would be happy to let you sit in mine, I can't take you for a drive right now because I'm changing transaxles. My car is a scratch build but the dimensions should be very close to most everything out there. I live about 10 minutes from Economan so if we can set it up you could sit in both and if Neal gets involved he's about a half hour from me so you could see all three. Just let me know and we'll set it up. Welcome to the forum,

I'm sitting here in Florida (where its in the 70's) and reading the posts and I must admit admiring the responses John is receiving. What a great forum this is. The thing that amuses me is this. Isn't the weather up your way bloody horrible right now? John's getting offers for rides and sit-ins from everyone. I bloody love it...does nothing stop the GT40 crowd from giving a newbie a taste of GT40 heaven. Good on yer lads. BTW Welcome John to this most welcoming group of guys.

Yes, it seems I joined the right group! And the weather here in Port Townsend is 50 deg with partial sun and dry, empty, roads :-)
