My vote is in the Sauber Mercedes for about 60-70%. But there definately is the Kudzu hints in the rear too. When I get done, it really is going to be a "wtf is it". Not changing the Superlite name, but, it will be the "SVR1" model.

Love the 767 and the Sauber. I see the side glass opening shape as Sauber for sure. Not sure where the 767 contributes.

Kudzu - front grill (upside down), lower side upsweeping bodyline, rear side vent (reversed), rear fender wheel opening flare contours and rear body profile (race tail).

The only GTP car body at RCR before the creation of the SLC was?.......

You know, that's another one of oddities of the general public. I got more compliments when driving my wife's (at the time) Mustang GT than my 993 or E39 M5 put together. I was polite and said thanks, but thought to myself "if you only knew".

If you measured the kudzu vs the Slc you would be very surprised how different they are
The kudzu was inspirational but that's as far as it goes. I'm sure the late Mike Moore would have something to say about your comment.

They are different in many ways and I'll be the first to say it. It's not a Kudzu. I said it was the nearest cousin and I can easily see the influence of the noted styling features in the final product. Simple enough, no worries. Hell, I even have one

Mike told me of the little battle he had convincing you to let him put that raised front hood/nose extension feature on the car. He said you gave stiff resistance on that idea *chuckle* I'm glad he stuck to his guns as it gave an otherwise large featureless space some nice interesting lines.

I don't know how late I am with this.

The item of discussion was actually the overhang on the nose
We had already done the raised section on the nose.
We compromised and we made the overhang a little smaller and it works.
It took us 18 months to get the shape right.
The DLO and glass was a huge part of this and being able to get the windscreen actually made as a production part was a huge hurdle too.

Mike , my great friend and styling mentor sadly left us last November.

When I said the SLC was a replica of a Kudzu, it was in jest, not to be taken too seriously, thus the

I know, humor isn't any good if you have to explain it, but I thought when some guy at a gas station that doesn't have a clue what it is asks if it's a replica, telling him, "why yes, it's a replica of a Kudzu GTP", would be rather humorous. If he didn't know what an SLC is, he sure as hell won't know what a Kudzu is.

Fran, I had a chance to see the Mazda 787B in Sydney last year. When approaching it for the first time, not knowing what it was, I thought of the SLC.

PeteB, being in Aust the Kudzu GTP car is definitely not known to me, I’ll try it at the gas station next time! I did know the SLC was inspired by GTP cars.

Garry20B. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed punching out 11,150km (6,925 miles) on mine. I still reckon any itineration of the ‘WTF’ number plate is the way to go. some cold start music.

I used to draw cars all the time when I was in high school. There's one design that I continue to update through the years. One day, I'd like to at LEAST try to build a small 1/12 scale version of it.

Also, +1 on the drunk bastards that want rides. Or the assholes that sit on the fiberglass to pose for a pic. That was annoying as hell!!!

I started drawing as a kid and never quit. Always like to create something. bringing it up makes me want to create an SLC rendering. Here is a Daytona a did a couple years ago.

I just looked, I have 3100 miles, just came back from a cruise nite in Cleveland, 50 or so miles away, didn't put my foot into it the way over there, got 14 MPG, on the way back 7, but lot more fun factor. The rotary just keeps on pulling, not quite the 767-787-797 sound, but pretty close, the roar at 9000 rpm is unbelievable especially under bridges. Don't go there to many times but sometimes you just have to prove a point when others want to race my little 2 liter engine.

The three-rotor in a competition car is one of the few engines that they've yet to make sound limits across the board without back-pedaling the throttle when going past the meter..
The most ear-splitting scream I had ever been along side of while racing...
Made my 7200 RPM SCCA American Sedan classed Camaro sound absolutely pedestrian and I actually back pedaled my own car to get away from the screech of it! He was in another class and I was leading mine by a handy margin at the time.. Thank GOD!!!! I was afraid to fill my ear-buds with blood!!!

I have used rotaries since the 12 a in 1972, built plenty of V8's always BB from my blowen Hemi cuda to my 49 Merc, 38 Packard, all with blowers and lencos, but this car is by far the most fun I have ever had. I was going to put a 4 rotor in, mainly because of the sound, but after some research and the length of the motor, I went with the 3. Its balanced, put the extra dowels in, all the upgrades for the racing 20B with street porting and a big ass turbo. 720 injectors primarys, and 2200 secondarys.

A Sauber C9 would be awesome! It seems to have a bit more of a rake than the SLC, maybe a higher belt line? It's one of my favorite sounding race cars with its twin turbo DOHC V8.
