The Sultan of Brunei

Whatever.

I'm not the type of person who thinks it's ridiculous to have a lot of money and own a few cars, but 5000? Jesus man, get a life.

But in mitigation they are spread out over a lot of countries. His collection is a bit sporting as well.
I guess the totally dysfunctional 'royal' shower of leeches here in the UK
have - at a guess - more than 500 cars - AND they don't pay road tax - AND some of their cars don't have number plates - AND they have 6 police motorcycles clearing the road ahead of them -AND they have 3 more cars of police behind them - AND one of them crashed the royal jet up in the Hebrides and put the blame on somebody else - AND ................ it go's on...

As Mel Brooks said...."it's good to be the King"

A few years back Car and Driver did a photo story on his main garage. I understand that he has scaled back is automotive buying. Ferrari/Pininfarina built several "one-offs" for him such as a four door 456 and other "unique" vehicles.

The wealthy have a duty to spend their money. If they didn't it would not go down the food chain to the likes of us to earn it and so we would go hungry! Tis better they spend it on cars rather than, say, military arnaments.

there is also the legend weekly he receives an airbus full of Playmates, subrettes and B movie actress.

Only weekly? what a toy. I'm sure Paolo if you had that much money that Airbus would be doing daily flights.;)

Malcolm,
our lot are just the pits. They are the tightest on this planet. We pay them - don't forget. Think about some of the companies involved after the fire in Windsor - some of whom were stupid enough to do it for the qudos - and who didn't get paid for 6 months or more, and became insolvent/went under because of it. How about the six guards protecting the house that Fergie and York built together. They don't live in it - haven't for years - but it is still being paid by people in the Thames Valley area. Trickle down? I don't think so.
Another snippet - Diana is no longer buried on the island at Althorpe.
Where is she? - probably on the moon with Elvis.

I don't think so. I saw them both last week in Vegas, at one of the discos. They were kissing on the dance floor--scandalous!!

Wind yer neck in Dave. What have you been eating today - Royal Jelly? ;)

By the way, how do we know if you are the real David Morton?

One of the scariest things I have ever seen, is at our local library (yes, I CAN read!) that in the biography section, there are more books on Diana than ANY other person!

You would think she cured cancer, brought world peace and made the best cookies ever!

Keith,
There's irony for you. Some asshole has just stolen my i.d. on ebay and I've bought a shed load of Gibson and Fender guitars. I suppose I had better start taking lessons. But no Keith, if I wanted to throw more fuel on the fire I could go on all night about the krauts in Windsor but I have to sleep as well.
The previous maitre d in the Compleat Angler here in Marlow is talking about writing a book so I won't spill his 'beans'.
And Rick - she was just a breeding sow and when she produced the sons, she was just put out to pasture.

Didn't I hear something about noisy packages being sent to those in charge of driver licenses and such. David, you're not riled enough to be involved in that are you?

Seriously, when I heard about this on the news this morning, the first thing I thougt of was the petition in the other thread. Glad, but sad, we aren't the only ones that belly ache about governments, but the royals have to a PITA since they all seem to be such PITA. Horray for Harry though: requesting to go where there is action!

No Lynn. Seems it was yet another school caretaker who is making the news tonight. My only experience was rather big ones in the anti- Submarine world
(which were from the U.S.A ).
Belly ache about Govenments? What Government. They've gone back on just about every pledge they made. We have the most incredible assortment of lunatics who are clinging by their fingertips and so far up each others anal canal they can't see out any more.
Both Diana's sons seem to be OK but I doubt they will ever get where the action is.
Great Britain should declare war on the USA and then surrender immediately and then Country Joe McDonald should rule both coutries.

Dave...And it's "1-2-3 what are ranting for don't ask me I don't give a ..........."
Good old "Country Joe"

My gosh, 5,000? That seems like a little wretched excess. I would hope one's philanthropic urge would kick in after about the 100th exotic car. Maybe sell a couple of the McLarens and give some money to a worthy cause??

This is a great thread! I love it when people just go off on one. I vote we should have a "rant" forum where we can let off steam about nothing in particular..Any supporters? It would be a community help thing and give great entertainment at the same time, plus, you would learn an awful lot about what makes each other really tick!

This is a very good time of year for a rant. Weather is shite (for those of us with grey skies that is), business is shite, credit card bills after Christmas are shite, Government are shite etc etc etc.

Dave, sorry to hear about your ID theft. When I spoke about "are you the real David Morton" I was alluding to the issue of "multiple personalities" on GT40's dot com. Now you have completed your rant though, it is quite clear you are the original. ;)

Anyway, as to the "Royals" it is quite clear that the groundswell of informed opinion in the UK clearly used to favour the Beckhams for King & Queen (thankfully, it seems our American friends have now got them) but it kind of looks as if HM Jade Goody is rooting for the top spot..she just will NOT go away!.

Isn't the paddock already a rant forum, where anything goes and not guaranteed under 18 friendly?

David sorry to hear about the identity theft but if you have a spare Fender I've always wanted one. Are you going to make it to Pete's Bar?
