Time for new shoes

Hello CAV GT40 friends! I've been away a while but back in action...

Took a spirited drive yesterday and seems like the old Good Year rubber is just not good enough anymore. Perhaps it's time for a new set of tyres.

What's the latest and the greatest for our 15" BRMs? Don't say Avon...I just lost a lot of $$$ in the market last week : )

Look into the drag radials....I know it sounds bad, but they are actually pretty good all round tires!

Yes, you're right, Pat. I actually had a set of Nitto drag radials on my old Cobra and they were pretty good. Picked up a lot of stones, though.

Toyo R888 is a good R compound that is street legal. Sheads water ok as well. Not very expensive. I have them on my Porsche and Corvette year round. I have about 11 track days on the vette and about 1/2 life.

Michelin is a good tire, that is what is on my '40, but very expensive

Unfortunately. the Toyo 15s are available only up to 235s...:sad:

I think I need 245 fronts and 295 rears.

Not yet, Jesse. I got new shoes for the Cobra instead...Nittos. Got a lot of flak for that but hey, they handle superbly! I'm saving up for Avons...it's only right.:drunk:
