This doesn't look like a factory five, but it seems there's been a lot of 'exotic' engines going into some of these cobra replicas. I found this turbo bmw v12 powered cobra to be done very well.

I dunno. Check out the diesel magazines and people are turning the Ford Powersmokes to 5k and making over 1000hp.

That would be one heck of a way to show up for an event. I guess you would have to put leaf springs and dually tires on the cobra as well. :shy:

Why do you opt for a Stroked 351W rather than a 427 FE?

I'm a hot-rodder through and through... I'll hot-rod anything with any engine or motor in it... If I wanted to build a Cobra that still had a lot of the V8 grunt as well as the sound, but deliver 50 MPG, you'd be watching my Cobra on YouTube...

Remember my Electric Motorcycle projects? 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Gasoline used = ZERO..

They aren't lightweight engines, but the amount of power that Cummins in particular are getting out of common-rail diesels is amazing- from the factory, their 5.9 liter QSB marine engine makes better than 500 hp and probably over 800 ft-lbs of torque...this is well over 100hp/liter which is pretty good in anyone's book. I don't know how long they hold together. And all that out of 360 cubic inches...
