WW II Tank Battle

My God Marcus! That is a rare picture indeed. That is Gruppenfuhrer KreiegenWagenKampfCommandant Topol Blumenthal the very famous Jewish Violinist riding to Kursk on his JagdTiger.

He was promoted from Kamp Fiddler to this exalted position when Himmlers boyfriend Snookie, noticed Topol playing the Haunting theme from the Deerhunter back in 1943 (long before the Americans stole the idea and ruined it by filming in Vietnam of all places, when of course the original was based on the Dnieper).

Well, Snookie strangely enough started crying tears made with water instead of the usual crimson stuff and noticing this, Hippler (he had a bad NHS op in the meantime) thought that anyone that could make Snookie actually cry would have a devastating effect on the Russians and so the "Second Panzer Gotterdammerung Battalion" was formed together with deadly elements of the "1st & 2nd Allegro Movement for Oboes"

Regretfully, Topols insistence on Turret playing during the battle proved his undoing, and he was subsequently laid to rest on the battlefield in an unmarked grave. His head, discovered embedded in the side of the Dun Roamin' B&B in Scunthorpe in 1967, courtesy of a high velocity shell from a 'Josef Stalin' S152 Tank Destroyer, can now be seen displayed at Burger King in Essen. (Just by the male toilets on the left titled 'Head Case')

Brilliant picture Marcus - so rare - thanks you so much for posting and remembering this heroic man.
