SL-C #50 Allan's Build

Nice, wait til you see the heads that'll turn on the street. People will follow you for miles. You might have to ditch them before you get home in an evasive maneuver. Seriously. Oh and if the evasion includes hitting the brakes hard, keep an eye on how close they are behind. I had one car that thought it could keep up with SLC braking almost tag me in the rear quarter and did a 360 into oncoming traffic.

Your car looks incredible! The blue with the silver stripes is beautiful. Very impressive time line on your build. Amazing.

Thanks everyone, here's some pictures of the body out in the sun. It's a pearl paint so the color changes with every angle and it really stands out in the sun.

I enjoy reading this thread. And I am very impressed with the "build speed" and progress.
Maybe it is not appropriate to ask such a question but I have always wondered how much a SLC will cost to get on the road?
Hopefully an estimate can be given depending on engine etc?

Secondly, is it pretty easy to get it road registered if you want to or is it anything to be aware of if going that route?
Thanks!

Hello Bjoern,

My guess at the "baseline" cost for an SLC would be about $70K, including a crate LS376 engine and a Ricardo or Griffin transaxle. I know Cam has his SLC registered in Texas.

Bjoern,
I agree with Doc's estimate. A straight forward build (done by yourself) with the LS376 crate engine and Ricardo or Griffin transaxle will be about $70K. If you are not tempted to hire out portions of the build it can be done.

I think it depends on the state you registering as to how easy it is. Texas, easy. Coupla receipts and 4 offices, done. The ricardo put me a little over. i think itd be easy with a G50. I just have to stay away for the words "carbon fiber" and "Billet" tho. Budget wreckers but very coool.....

The rest of the body will be on soon, but I just got it aligned and wanted the front and rear clip off for easy access.

Allan, what did you cover the dash with? Looks good!

Same question.

It looks better than I've seen previously. I'm still not sold on the center "pod?" design. Think I'd prefer it to be flatter and waterfall down to the center console.

P.S. Do you have 2 SL-C's and a GTM or are those for someone else?
