The attack on some ones personal beliefs in this thread are disgraceful. If all you guys prone to ridiculing another mans wishes to spread peace and happiness to others were really as enlightened as you think, you would realize how weak and ignorant you appear.

If you don't believe, then don't believe. To attack a man that wishes you only the good things and peace in your life is the height, the height of ignorant intolerance.

If your the ones who are so enlightened, if you have all answers and know the truth, why then?? Why then do you act as wolves among the sheep??...

Go forward with all your answers and ridicule and be a wolf among wolves....
Go into a mosque and ridicule them. somehow I get the feeling you would suddenly discover tolerance....

Two things.

First. Most of us have absolutely no problem with his personal beliefs. But he has tried to impose his personal beliefs on those who do not share them.

Second. Religion does not spread peace and happiness. Although it says that on the can. But when you open up that can, all you find is death and destruction. Religion is the single biggest cause of war in the world, even today. The human race would be far better off without it.

Here's the flaw in your position....

I don't see how he has imposed his religion or his beliefs on you by simply sharing the information. You have interpreted it that way because perhaps it makes you uncomfortable. No problem, if you don't dig religion then thats cool. But he does and thats cool too.
If I don't feel the same way about something as you do should I attack you??.. or ridicule your belief or position??... Thats not right, you shouldn't do it.

Further, your position on religion "not spreading peace and happiness" requires more deliberation on your part. Virtually any time, any time you make a blanket statement like that it will surely be an oversimplification, which that statement clearly is.
I think Mother Theresa is one example among many.

When you say "Religion is the biggest cause of war in the world" That may or may not be true. But lets go with it for purposes of this discussion.
Why do you think that is??.... Perhaps some one ridiculed a mans beliefs which he held dear? Perhaps a peace loving religious man appeared to be an easy target for some one and was attacked...
Why do automatically assume it was the religion that caused the problem?
Would consider this mans wishes that you too could discover what he has an attack?? I would say his beliefs were attacked...
Besides, we all, all have religion. What does your GT40 do for you? It makes you feel good, it's not a required object, it is what you believe it is... I could easily take the position that there is no need for high performance sports cars, they kill people, they pollute, etc....

One more thing.... It's seems you have taken an all encompassing position on this and prescribed it to all others. It appears you have decided that this is REALLY what religion is and anyone else's views are void.
When I say that's your opinion, I'm not saying your right or wrong. I'm just saying you should never, never ridicule another mans heartfelt beliefs whether they are religious or otherwise, it's distasteful and makes those who do so appear weak self serving and uninformed.

Personal opinion is that nearly 100% of global wars are a result of religious conflict. And has probably always been.

The number of agnostics in the most recent Australian census have increased, to be almost 30% of the population. A long way to go, but one day maybe conflict will not be a result of religious diferences. Suspect I will be long gone.

Now... About the wars....

Clearly, clearly many wars have been started over religion. BUT NOT ALL!

Why was WW2 started??...
Why was the Korean conflict started??...
Why was Viet Nam undertaken??
Why was WW1 started??...

Now, let me say on the onset. I really don't know the initial details of some of these conflicts, and they could have a religious element, I just don't know.
But I would venture to say that a significant number of wars were not started due to religion....
Politics, boarders, resources, etc....

So again, when you say all, or when you assume, your basically surrendering your position ( which may be valid otherwise ).
i.e. had I called jimbo brother, all wars were not started over religion... etc.

I would like to thank the moderator for their patience in this thread, obviously I enjoy engaging in intellectual discourse. I hope to provide a new perspective not exclusively about the subject matter but about people and how we/they perceive the social responsibility of others when compared to the interpersonal actions of ourselves/themselves......

A religion , or a cult is a belief system . A way of thinking , or a certain mind set . A choice not to participate is also a belief system . Everyone believes something .
I believe this is a car sight , and that everyone is entitled to their opinion , or expression of their belief . And when you post on an open forum , you openly invite everyone into your conversation . And just like politics , another religion , emotions get stirred , and wars may be started .
I still find it amazing that some have to jump in and complain , whine , about what is posted . Seems like its in the correct place to me . Don't like it , turn it off . Don't ban it from all .
I usually avoid such threads because while I mostly believe as a Christian , I disagree with most religious people in how to follow this belief . I take into account all of written history , religion , and mythology that I'm aware of . Which usually ends in the " shaking of dirt from the others feet " , Which I find very intolerant .
But when a thread continues on as this one has I have to check it out , having an idea about this sight as I do , having visited it nearly every day for several years . I know that it will be very entertaining , and once again its been better than what was on the idiot box .
