The United Nations is looking for a young woman to, as BBC put it, be the ‘Malala’ of the climate change movement, serving as a voice that will energize this September’s climate change conference.

The organization has put out a call for a woman under 30 to speak at the opening session of the 2014 Climate Summit, which is being held on September 23 in New York City. The woman has to be from a developing country and must have a background that includes advocacy on climate change or work on implementing climate mitigation or adaptation solutions. So far, the call for applicants has drawn 544 women, who emailed short videos of themselves persuading world leaders to act on climate change to the Secretary-General’s office.

The UN has outed itself with this stunt. Its criteria ensure no leading climate scientists need apply. See, this is no longer about science at all

...and you undoubtedly recall that AT NO TIME over the past 17 years or so did these same people ever say that there'd be a 17 year pause in "warming" FOLLOWED BY the non stop increase they're now "predicting"!!!

'Climate reality' is always being spun to fit their agenda. E.g.: claiming that "cooling" is actually proof of "warming"!

That whole camp is an utter J-O-K-E.

Curious how the vast majority of "scientists" who have been warning us for so long don't take any credit for healing the earth i.e. the return of the ice caps.

Gee if I were responsible for that, I'd be shouting it from the rooftops. But, its not about healing anything, its about worldwide wealth redistribution, hence the title of this thread, "More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax."

He also said that the melting ice would cause sea levels to rise and most of the eastern coast would be under water now. Funny ice displaces the same amount of water as ice as it does as water. Snake oil salesman, making a ton of money on ignorant people, he's worth 100 times as much as he was when leaving office. Maybe there is something to be said for leading fools off a cliff

Where do you get this ignorant bullcrap?

Someone pointed it out before, but there is no "return of the ice caps." The trend continues to be downward, less ice each year. There was more this year than last, but still far less than 10-15 years ago.

It's pretty clear who the real dupes and sheeple are.

Your "scientists" have been caught several times changing data to make their theories work.

Compound that with the fact that they are saying, "the discussion is over," and you have non science. The discussion is never over. Especially when contrary data is out there everywhere.

Well, come on now Pete....what he actually said was a little different. To be specific, what he said was that some climate projection studies (back in 2007) forecasted that the summer-time polar ice cap may be non-existent by 2014.

Indeed the summer-time polar ice caps continue to shrink in size over time...currently about half their size of the 1970's.

Al merely said that certain studies forecasted the possibility of zero summer-time polar caps by 2014. He didn't personally and definitively say that the summer-time caps would be gone by 2014. There's a difference. Some may say that's just a fine line nuance for intellectuals to debate, I call it just being able to reed and spel good.

In defense of our friends, you know they are only repeating what they were told. By now we know that some folks are happy being misled, facts are no fun, they prefer to be told things the way they would like them to be. There is no point in trying to change them.

You would think that by now they would know to check before they post them here, but apparently they don't.
