I split my time between Colorado and Florida, so will be driving both places. I have coated the entire chassis, firewalls, fuel tank barrier, doors and clamshell with Lizard Skin heat and noise treatment. Also have some strategically placed areas with DEI shielding installed. Radiator pipes running front to rear are also insulated. Once the headers and exhaust are complete will be going through the engine bay to add heat barriers where appropriate. I will also be wrapping the exhaust in the final configuration. Have been building hot rods in Florida for over 30 years so I know the drill on melted wires and cables (the worst was a shifter cable that melted while I was driving and once I got to my destination couldn't get the truck out of drive). I have had good luck with using the Lizard skin as the primary and then adding bespoke shields in key areas. Will take it one step at a time as I figure this will be going together and apart a few more times before we are all done.
Great reply Mike. Glad I asked as I haven’t heard of Lizard Skin heat and sound insulation. Was just reading about it.
