The '64 Fairlane is my all-time favorite Ford production car. I particularly liked the Thunderbolt, a 427 Tunnel-port drag racing version.
A few years ago Holman Moody had two recently built GT40's for sale, and at the same time they were trying to sell a few of these 427 equipped road racing '64 Fairlanes....I see at least one must have sold.

Good driver, he was on the edge most of the time. Used every inch of run off on the tract, wonder how kept his teeth from getting chipped.

I wonder is that was a SOHC 427 car. Nothing like a big block Ford to make your heart pump!
