Adapter: LS4 to 01E or other transaxles

Has anyone successfully adapted an LS4 to either an 01E or any other transaxle? The LS4 is shorter than other LS Series engines. The difficulties would be the V6 90 bellhousing pattern, and GM used a transmission mounted starter. I think the big hurdle is a starter solution.

We use the standard starter and flex plate custom flywheel and 40mm thick adapter plate :----------

Nice...not ever seen that set-up before.

Wouldn't the usual suspect's (KEP for example) adapter plates work from any LS series motors? I understand the LS4 is slightly shorter on both ends of the crank, but a spacer of some sort may work to fix that. The Porsche boxes place the starter on the bellhousing as you've probably alread figured out.
