Up date time. The to do list is short, nostril struts should be here soon, windows are in but need trim, air filters are on. I bit the bullet and got the K&Ns from Borla. Road testing was good other than a bog at light throttle and a hint of anti freeze in the air, haven't found the leak yet. I had the carpet fitted. the guy did such a poor job and I put it in the trash and did my own. I fitted the fire wall glass with two ally frames and made a foam and glass sandwich. I'm about to order an emblem from Rick for the home made shifter, just by chance the cut on top is 3/4 inch.

I should say that the first drive was good except the home made trans temp sender and breather combo unit unloaded a bit of oil. An easy fix with better drain back within the vent tube. I didn't have the trans linkage right and had a hard time with 1st and reverse. Adjusted and all is good.

Ventured a bit today, about 30 miles. Trans temp gets up to about 170, but never owned a transaxle before. RBT ZF . What is normal? A hesitation I'll have to have looked at by someone with tape holding his glasses together.

Slacking of on the keyboard. A simple heat shield made, air filters, push on Borla/K&N, a wheel alignment, struts on the nostril
Today was spent on a dyno. The first tune installed into the Holly HP was a mess. After starting from scratch today, I think I have an engine that can be driven on the street. For some reason it tossed a fan belt but an easy fix. After having the numbers on the side I started to peel the sticker of at the door sill. The fix was a strip of rock guard film over the edge. Tomorrows job will be to fit a small CV boot over the shifter and then call it a shifter boot and install a GT 40 emblem, thanks Rick, on the shift knob. Thank you, they just showed up today.

We attended a show in Penticton B.C. last weekend, 850 cars at the event. Part of the deal was a cruise on Main street. Almost an hour at a walking pace at about 90 deg. I was in shock that I had no heat issues of any kind. Thot for sure I'd have blistered paint over the exhaust. I jumped out of the car and opened the clam and all was good. Check out youtube, ( Penticton GT40 ), me with heat stroke. A little chuckle.
The only problem I had was the Borlas where not letting the engine come down to idle due to the heat. Some alignment and adjustment should fix it.

Hi Walt, I just looked again. It's GT40 Penticton on Youtube. I was half dead, AC wasn't charged yet and the heat was killing me.

This is weird. Now I cant find it. I did it another way, I hope the guy is ok with me sending you the mail and link. I don't know how to cut and past yet. Try not to laugh to hard.

Just received a unison gauge, Now I can set the butterflies and idle speed. Just have to get some flex pipe to get rid of the exhaust with the clam open.

My eldest was here for a visit and was playing with his camera. I was told how and where to hold the light.

We wen't to the first show and shine on the weekend with the 40. 80 odd cars plus a group of about 15 showed op from Prince George, about 350 miles. I am never after prizes at a show, but this time I was second in peoples choice after an old Bronco and a stuffed ballot box. The organizers have all ready made plans to fix this type of thing for the future. At Kitimat's show we stopped judging and just gave prizes via a draw, no judging, after all it's a hobby not a contest.

I have ordered a Factory Five MK4, an easy play build after the 40. I will be installing an original 1970 Boss 302. Has any one done this combo? I would like the great work of GP Headers again but was informed that they haven't built a set for that engine/Cleveland head 302 in a Cobra. They gave me the option to use their jigs.
I'm open to info from all you pros.
