Ron, did you ever have any ancestors in the UK? I have just read an article on the Brighton Speed Trials which mentioned a certain Mr Earp as setting FTD on one of the earliest events (pre WW1). The speed recorded was 92 mph and it was noted that this was only 12 mph less than the world speed record at that time.
