Hi Guys,
Here's a DIY project for you, something we do to all our cars. The stock door handle can be overstroked, usually by Chevy owners, enough to bend the unlatch tab inside the door. The trick is to make the closing bump stop do double duty. It still adjusts closing position for a flush fit yet limits the stroke on opening.
There's a bit of clearance work to do on the body and a 8-32 hole tapped into the backside of the handle for the limit screw. Another one of those detail things you never see but appreciated once you've had to unscrew a side window to climb in the car and remove the door panel to unlatch the door. Oh yeah, it happened... both handles overstroked.
Cheers
